muzik_lvr Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I know this is a different type of thread, but I wanted to share some awesome music with you guys that has been good and helpful to me during my current situation. It's an album called "Authenticity" by a group called The Foreign Exchange. You can check it out here at these links: iTunes The Foreign Exchange Website (click radio player, songs for Authenticity are at the bottom of the list) The whole album is basically about the journey of a break-up and healing/restoration. It's not simply an album with songs saying "I love you, I miss you, please come back to me, blah blah…" It talks about the complexities of relationships, breakups, and what goes on in the minds of those involved. There are a few songs where every word in the song describes exactly how I felt/feel. Plus, the music itself is awesome (imo). Just wanted to pass it along to anyone who may be interested.
VJohnson32 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Music does help out during hard times, music got me through all the hard times during the break up But, R&B isnt my kinda music... im into melodic death metal. \m/
Dims85 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Johnson, nothing like some Opeth or Scar Symmetry to brighten your day. Music is the only thing besides friends that has kept me going through this all. Music in general leaves lasting impressions and helps people through any sort of rough spot not only break-ups. Do what you need to do to get over the heartache and build on your own character. Thanks for the link muzik i'm sure it will help a lot of people.
trippi1432 Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Well, I do love R&B, country, rock...love it all. We all find something in music that helps heal our soul I think. My signature song when I go out and sing...and hoping to win a contest this weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_SEmcFVG-8 It also helps me heal when I can belt this one out.
whatdoido1717 Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I think this is the greatest live performance of a love song, especially the way the crowd sings at the end (strong bias opinion): ----- "Black" by Pearl Jam Hey... oooh... Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay Were laid spread out before me as her body once did. All five horizons revolved around her soul As the earth to the sun Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn Ooh, and all I taught her was everything Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds Of what was everything. Oh, the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything... I take a walk outside I'm surrounded by some kids at play I can feel their laughter, so why do I sear? Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin round my head I'm spinning, oh, I'm spinning How quick the sun can drop away And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass Of what was everything? All the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything... All the love gone bad turned my world to black Tattooed all I see, all that I am, all I'll be... yeah... Uh huh... uh huh... ooh... I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a sun in somebody else's sky, but why Why, why can't it be, can't it be mine Aah... uuh.. Too doo doo too, too doo doo [many times until fade] -----
