SweetDaphne Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 After being on the site for a few weeks I'm beginning to wonder.... Is PoF a realistic place to look for a relationship? Or is it just best to assume that all guys on there only want FwB? How do you weed the FWB guys out?
Andy_K Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 A good start would be the 'looking for' criteria that is now compulsory for everyone to fill in. After that, try asking them what attributes they're looking for in a girl. If they have no idea, aren't interested, or only list physical stuff then move on. Probably best to avoid most guys with shirtless pic. Hard to say more without seeing your profile to get an idea of what sort of guys will contact you.

I am truly looking, on Match and OkCupid too, but is it really that hard to find a nice guy, who won't let me walk all over them and likes to travel, have conversations, and likes sports? I'm not looking for Fabio either, I actually like a guy with some weight to him -better for cuddling. (These are general hopes/wants/desires for a guy.)

It took me 1.5 years to meet a WONDERFUL woman that is perfect for me in every way. Oh, and I did meet her on OKCupid

There are creeps on all dating sites, even the pay sites. I think some women complain that all they meet are creeps because they have a "specific" type they don't want to stray away from. If you keep an open mind and don't give up easily you may meet a good guy on that site.

He used it use it and went on various dates from it, and I'd make fun of him, saying that the quality of girls on it surely couldn't be that great (no offense if anyone here uses it), and he argued that it was for people who "didn't have time to meet people in the real world." HAHA.... so be it, to each their own. Another one of my male friends, who admittedly just wants tail, met up with a young lady, who he said was good looking. Once he got there, she told him that she had a fetish and told him to put on a mask, and chase her around with a machete. WTF...

A bar? The supermarket? Meeting people to date isn't always easy, even for some very attractive and successful people. I personally know people that have used and met off that site and they weren't "creeps" or whatever other judgemental comments people come up with.

OliveOyl Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Maybe the "quality" of PoF isn't as high as OKCupid, but I got more responses from PoF in one day than I did in 2 weeks on OKCupid. Plus responses are still trickling in on PoF, whereas in OKC they just stopped cold. I like the layout of OKC a lot better but I didn't get much response rate (even to those I initiated) on OKC. There just seem to be waayy more people on PoF. I disabled my OKC profile.

Delete the ones from the jocks, the good looking bad boys, and the guys who are posing for the camera with their shirts off, looking ripped 3. Find a nice looking guy, who actually has his shirt on, is writing in full sentences (and not come on messages), and genuinely seems to show an interest in getting to know "you", not your private parts 4. Message him 5. Take it from there If more women went after the decent guys who get no attention on these sites, rather than the douchebags that do, maybe all the players would be sitting at home alone on a friday night?

They're either struggling single mothers with deadbeat baby daddies, or childless women that still live at home, or don't have a car... And I always get a kick out of the ones that put N/A for having a car:laugh: Either you do or don't, what the hell is N/A?
