Crimesoftheheart Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 hey guys, I'm new to the forum and would greatly appreciate outside perspective. Here is the lowdown.. I met someone recently and sufficed to say we get along wonderfully . He recently brought up the possibility of us being more serious.. My concern is that he recently got out of a long-term relationship. It was nearly 4 years with a few breaks, and happened about 4 or 5 months ago. He says though the breakup was tough both him and his girlfriend at the time, it was a long time coming and they were both ready to move on and that they both are happier for it. However, i know leaving a long term relationship is difficult to do. With that in perspective, him and his ex have an open communication and have have spoken on occasion since their breakup. According to him their last communication was early march. however, while he was here he checked his facebook(i know, facebook) inbox, i saw there was a correspondence between them recently, in late march. the last few lines he wrote were visible "it would maybe be good to see you, to catch up. i feel weird talking on facebook anyway. If you want, feel free to drop me a line." Hm. I brought this ex issue up to him as a whole, and after having to drag it out he saw why i was i was/am uncomfortable with his corresponding with his ex and why this was a deciding factor in whether i'm going to possibly get more serious with him. he decided to stop communicating with her. I thought of the message and when i asked him if he had asked her to see him he said no, that he was being 100% honest and open with me. :/ Anyway, She has a few things at his place which she'll be picking up. It seems like our talk ended on a positive note, he completely understood and came to the conclusion that he should not see his ex. However, looking at the bigger picture I'm still insure. Thoughts?
