acrossthemiles1 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Is it true that every woman wishes to be tall? Nope! LOL. I am 4'11 3/4" to be precise, lol...and I think my height is just great. I have the whole "dangerous pixie" thing going on, haha. I suppose the one drawback is (like others have said) if I gain a pound or two - which definitely happened when I lived in France for a summer, lol - it shows. But, I do Bikram yoga 3-4 times a week and keep myself in pretty good shape. So no worries there. I've also never had much of a problem finding clothes that fit me...maybe because of the whole skinny jeans craze - and yes, I am aware you're not "supposed" to wear skinny jeans with short legs, but because you can get away with them being bunchy at the ankle you can actually scrunch them up a hell of a lot and have them still look cute and normal. It's when you need a flat, tailored hemline that you have to get them altered, lol.
Author Hopeful30 Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 If i could change my height today I definitely would. I feel ignored and not taken seriously because of my height; people don't respect me enough. Even though I am in my early thirties I can get mistaken as much younger even if I dress WAY up and wear a tailored suit and heels. I know what you mean. It's funny how height seems to add "intimidation" or "power" to a person. I remember talking to a friend once and she mentioned exactly what you did. She told me picture a beautiful, well-dressed business woman in high heels who reaches about 5'4 in height. Now picture that same woman at 6 feet. "You get a different impression, and the taller woman seems more powerful and professional." So I know what you mean with the whole not-taken-seriously. I'm so sorry to hear that, it sucks people judge so much. But look on the bright side! You never have to complain about a man being too short
