So I put up a profile on OkCupid not too long ago, just thinking that I would put it out there. I've gotten some kind of, well, odd responses from people. The first person and I have been writing for the last week or so. He offered his cell phone number 3 days ago, I replied and gave him mine. And I've heard ... Nothing from him (phone call or text).

The second one and I had been writing, I think the last I heard from him was on Monday or Tuesday of last week. I figured he wasn't going to respond anymore, so I just forgot about him. Then today I get this message from him:

Today I have finally gotten caught up with stuff and am now going through my emails. To answer your question, I'm doing great, feeling great, loving the weather, wanting a new bike...

How about yourself, anything new? Any ideas?

What's your idea of a good first date from meeting someone on the internet?

I'm not wary about responding to him, if just a little. I honestly do not know what to say except for a standard "Let's meet for dinner / drinks" or something like that. I should think that if he initiated the contact then he should suggest something. Am I wrong? Maybe I'm just too cautious. What would others do about this? The first one I am convinced will not contact me anymore.

As a guy, let me tell you what I get from that email.

Hes active, Optimistic, and outgoing. He's also very interested in getting to know you. His last line isn't asking you out, he is trying to feel out your personality to see what your dating interests are.

Honestly, I don't see any red flags there at all. Maybe you should respond and see what happens.

Oh, I think he's looking for you to honestly sit back and describe what you think a really good first date would be like. Just my 2c.

Good luck! :)
