I'm friggin 5'9 and that's still not good enough for some girls. A lot of women want a guy that towers over them like Andre the Giant.

Honestly, at 5'1", I think he'd get noticed more than if he was average height, which could be helpful. If he was average height and we were both at the same bar, I wouldn't notice him. He'd blend right in.

I'm 5'7 and I find women heavily discriminate against me for this, so I can't imagine what this fellow must be going through. My advice? Get something for your shoes that will make you taller discreetly. Maybe 3-4 inches taller. Start body building, and work hard on every aspect of yourself and take life in strides. Learn an instrument, like the guitar. Don't fall into depression or substance abuse as a lot of guys in our collective position would. It must suck to not be anyone's "type". I feel like that most of the time. People don't realize that feeling universally unattractive is as devestating for a man as it is for a woman (I say this because there are so many ways society tries to make unattractive women feel good , but few for men), we just deal with it in a different way and try to get on with our lives. It's not something that's always in our power though, and it's not anyone's fault, but it still sucks.

I like them more manly and rugged. But at 5'1. He drops to a 3. I'm 5'6. I'm usually only attracted to men 3 inches or more taller than me and a guy shorter than me is a complete turn off. Sad but true.
