That's great if the OP is a 10 himself, but if he's not particularly attractive he's not going to get a trophy girlfriend without other qualities. It's not about someone being a gold digger - more and more women have good jobs and are ambitious in their own right. What would a successful good looking woman want with a 27 year old college student with no job? Conversely, what would an 18 year old college student with her whole life ahead of her want with the same 27 year old?

I routinely see 18-21 year old women dating 25+ year old men who are still in college and unemployed. I also see plenty of educated career women dating guys who never went to college, who live at home and who are either unemployed or are only working part time.

Well I have two different explanations for your examples: either these men are great guys and are bringing other qualities to the table that are important in a relationship; or these women are so desperate and so afraid of being alone that they are willing to settle.
