So last night I met a girl, who was very cute. My friends introduced me to her at a party we were at in an attempt to set me up with her. She mentioned that she needed a lift home, so my friends offered on behalf of me and she agreed. However, instead of just leaving it that, I sort of panicked a bit when I was speaking to my friend and she saw that and it went down hill from there. Through out, I kept asking her if she wanted a lift and she kept saying she felt bad because I was going out of my way.

Anyways, the night ended up with her getting driven by another guy and I didn't get her contact details. It may be possible that I will see her in the future but I don't know. What can I do to dig myself out of this?

Well, it would be very helpful if you state what you mean by "panic." be very specific.

Sad to say...but it might be too late. You showed a total lack of confidence and she may now feel that you aren't into her at all. Any action you take now may look like desperation...or obligation...on top of the indecisiveness you've already exhibited.

If you should come across her again...my advice would be to strike up a conversation and not bring up the missed opportunity to drive her home. IF she responds positively...maybe you still have a chance. If she avoids you or gives you the cold shoulder...you have only yourself to blame.

Sorry to say...but that's my opinion and we all know what opinions are worth.

When I say I panicked, I met I was worried that I wouldn't have been able to drive her home and I subsequently told my friend that and she would have seen it. It was a mistake. I should have just gone with it. It all happened so fast.

I'm afraid I agree that I did show lack of confidence. It may be too late. I think I even came across as desperate or obliged. But thanks for the advice. Next time I see her I would do that, whenever that is. Should I add her Facebook?

I thought so... I'll move on then. :( Always unpleasant when this happens but yeah, have to move on.
