The man described below had a live in girlfriend.

http://www.foxnews.com/health/2011/03/29/obese-ohio-man-fused-chair-sat-2-years/?intcmp=sem_outloud&intcmp=obnetwork

The unnamed man lived with two able-bodied roommates -- including his girlfriend, who officials said fed him since he never got up -- in a home in Bellaire, Ohio. The roommates called police upon finding the man unresponsive on Sunday.

Officers who responded to the scene said that the man's skin was fused to the fabric of chair and that he was sitting in his own feces and urine with maggots visible.

One officer said it was the worst thing he had ever responded to. Another told the local TV station he had to throw away his uniform after helping remove the man from the chair.

This guy must have had some mad game. :lmao::rolleyes:

WTF talk about a woman liking a jerky guy. :lmao::laugh:

To think of all the clean, relatively non maggot infested men on here and other boards who can't even get a woman to give them the time of day. My mind is blown.

Just shows you how abnormal we are.

That is absolutely disgusting.

I read that today. That guy owns us all. Seriously. I wonder what his girlfriend looks like though... :p

Reckon he got BJs up till he nearly died? That must have taken dedication from her.

It's unbelievable that women would choose maggot infested guys over people like you and me, but it's true.

The fattest man in the world who can't get out of bed even has a wife.

I agree with Ross. How guys can get girls like this, and average sized, average looking guys like me can be single is mind boggling.

He must have had a huge penis, or a huge wad of cash.

This is completely inexplicable.

To me it does not matter what his GF looked like (she may well have been thin and fit and average looking by the way).

I mean it's not like he's Steven Hawking or something. He's wasn't disabled...he was just a real life fat bastard (of Austin Powers fame).

What could he have possibly done for her to make such dedication worth while?

Hitler had women too. But I guess they must've been attracted to his power.

Report: Obese Ohio man cut out of home, dies

BELLAIRE, Ohio — Media outlets report that a morbidly obese Ohio man who had not moved from his recliner in two years and had to be cut out of his home when he fell ill and was taken to a West Virginia hospital, where he died.

WTOV-TV in Steubenville and The Times Leader newspaper in Martins Ferry report that the eastern Ohio man died Wednesday at a West Virginia hospital. Wheeling Hospital confirmed the death of 43-year-old Richard Hughes of Bellaire, but provided no details.

WTOV reports that rescuers had to cut Hughes out of his recliner on Sunday and cut a hole in a wall to get him out of the house.

Politicians are partly responsible for things like this. Why?

Certain politicians with ties to the sugar and corn syrup industry voted to subsidize those extremely energetic foods. And corn syrup is subsidized even more than regular sugar. Regular sugar > corn syrup, in terms of both calories and taste. However neither of those should get subsidized in my opinion.

On a side note; I dislike subsidies by default. Subsidies are direct injections of taxpayer's money into the pockets of private shareholders of corporations by politicians. The way subsidies are given now is corruption in my opinion. A politician shouldn't have ties to the owners of a company or industry they vote to subsidize.

But if they HAD TO subsidize certain types of foods, well then they should at least choose to subsidize the healthy ones like vegetables and fruit, but that of course does not happen, hence the relatively high fruit and vegetable prices in a supermarket. (relative to unhealthy foods)

That certainly makes it easier to be obese.

When all is said and done there will be talk of criminal charges against that mans caretakers. He needed some tough love.

So while it's inexplicable that such a sad slob could have a GF that dedicated to him... she in the end wasn't such a good GF. A good GF would have made him shape up.

What does it matter? Would you even want to date a women like this?

Who knows what kind of underlying issues were at play here. Was the man on some kind of government assistance? If so, was that why the girlfriend was content to have him sitting in that chair for two years while she fed him and watched him pee and poop himself? So she could live off his money? I'm not saying that's the case, but good grief there HAD to have been some kind of motivation to live with that disgusting filth and watch that poor guy dissolve in his own mess.

What a sad world we live in.

It wasn't that he had game, or was charming, or he had money. I'm sure there was no intimacy involved in their lives. Her value to him was that he couldn't leave her, he NEEDED her, as long as he was incapable of moving, she'd never have to worry about being abandonned.

But, she didn't do anything to him. He did it to himself. He likely had babying issues, didn't want to take care of himself, didn't want any responsibility for his life. It was a perfect deal for him. She'd take care of him and baby him and he'd never leave her.

These were two very damaged, dysfunctional people.

I can't read this without thinking of my 'feeder' guy. (shudder)

Reminds me of that movie Seven.

What Marly says is very possible.

People will talk of someone who calls them one time to often or text them one time too often as being codependant

When, real talk, this sort of situation as Marly so well described is what that really looks like. They really depended on eachother. One propped up the other. Not just as a shoulder to cry on or someone to lean on very occasionally. That's a part of any relationship that last long enough. They literally could not live without each other.

Though knowing how overzealous prosecutors can be, she could end up under investigation at least.

If his gf loved him she would have gotten him the help he needed and not let him get in that condition and die.

Yup. And how in the WORLD could you feel okay "leaning on" someone who was in such a condition? There would be nothing there for me. Hell, if you can't even get out of your chair, and I can't even get close to you due to the smell, where would be any kind of support in that?

What a sad thing.

"the man's skin was fused to the fabric of chair "

So his skin basicly grew into the chair? That means he was no longer a man. He was a transformer, he was a hybrid between chair and man.

That is pretty sweet.
