hurtingandconfused Posted April 3, 2004 Posted April 3, 2004 I'm curious who here has maintained a friendship with their (long term) ex. Not right away of course, after all the healing ect...
voice from heaven Posted April 3, 2004 Posted April 3, 2004 I realized that it's not impossible to end up as friends with your ex... My ex were together for 4 years and I can say that he hurt me so much for he left without saying anything and then came back announcing his marriage to other girl...that really hurts... it took me years to move on.. I thought I'll never learn to forgive him... but i did and now he is one of my closest friend even his wife is my friend... well he's my childhood friend and his family is my family's friend so I guess we're meant to be friends... all it takes is a pure heart and swallowed pride and acceptance so you can be friends again...
ARES Posted April 3, 2004 Posted April 3, 2004 It is possible but your friendship will take a long time to find common ground, and i hate to say it but it will never be the same as it once was........ -Chris-
voice from heaven Posted April 3, 2004 Posted April 3, 2004 yes it will never be the same but it will be better I'm telling you that... That is if you can totally divert that romantic feeling into a friendly one... it's hard but it can be done...
nikkilove Posted April 3, 2004 Posted April 3, 2004 We're friends, but I never had that "soul-mate" feeling for him.......I always felt like he was a good friend that I married because I was pregnant. So, for me, I guess it was easier to maintain a friendship. He had issues when I started dating, although I didn't ever care who he dated, but now we are both OK with everything.
