I always thought a women just needs to be physically attracted to you for her to make eyes at you. Attarraion is in th eye of beholder. You have to qualities that women find attractive for a women to notice you. Women love confidence. If you don't display having a high level of confidence in your body language women will easily dismiss you. No woman wants a weak man. Women need to feel secure...ie. no matter what happens her guy will always do what is necessary to handle the situation. No woman is attracted to a man she assumes by his low self esteem body language will fall to pieces when hurdles in life happen.

Basically women want the opposite of them, most women are low in self esteem at times and unconfident and crumble in tough situations emotionally

When you guys say that when they smile while looking at you it means they're interested, do you mean that they need to already be smiling when you look at them, or do you mean that as soon as you look at them it is then that they smile? In my own experience, the type of look depends on the context of the interaction. For example, you might see the same women over and over again at certain places, such as a health club, coffee shop, book store, train station platform, or some other public place where you regularly go. I have noticed that if a girl who recognizes me and likes me but doesn't know me, she will immediately and instinctively smile if she just quickly notices me as we are in close proximity as we walk past each other when walking around a corner or something like that. I have also noticed that sometimes girls who like me will just stare without smiling. If you like the girl back, you have to hold her gaze - it is hard to do at first, but women like it when a man they find attractive stares right back at them because it shows confidence. I have also noticed that some women stare just to stare. If a woman stares at you with a zoned-out look, that may not mean anything at all.
