jmo28 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I read somewhere that Groucho Marx once said something to the effect of "I'm looking for a woman that looks like Marilyn Monroe and talks like George S Kauffman" meaning looks and interesting. I'm finding that i seem to attract either attractive women that do not have good values (ie aren't giving, charitable people toward others), aren't that interesting and sadly are the "gold digging" types that seem only interested in me for my job rather than who I am.... or I attract women i'm not attracted to that are actually very nice. I wonder if i'm just a masochist sometimes. I certainly hope not. I just get frustrated dating here in my big city, finding that there just aren't good people out there. Does anyone else feel its hard to find a happy medium of someone you're attracted to but who is also a good person?

Do you simply mean average or above (i.e. cute, not obese, etc) or do you mean model 9's & 10's attractive (as insinuated by the Groucho Marx quote)? If the former, hang in there, you'll find her, she's out there. :] If the latter, consider the small percentage of women that are actually in that upper echelon of attractiveness, then consider what percentage of those women are nice, intelligent, and emotionally compatible with you. Then consider alllllllllll the men out there who are chasing that less than 1% of women. That would be why you're having a hard time. ;] As I said though, if your standards are realistic, you'll meet the right person eventually.

I think i'm more picky personality-wise. Guess its just sunday night complaining about dating but I'll keep giving it another go...

You say you like women who are giving and involved in charitable causes...a great way to meet women like that would be by volunteering yourself. ;] I volunteer for a no-kill animal rescue and it is literally 99% women. On the rare occasion that a guy volunteers he definitely gets noticed (and usually he's somebody's husband).
