fortuitous Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 A few weeks ago a girl in one of my college classes started showing a lot of interest in me. This girl is making it blindingly obvious that she's into me. She gazes/stares at me as if she's in a hypnotic trance. She's giving me signals every day. So far we've just talked in class, and the chemistry between us is AMAZING. Thus far I've been playing it cool and flirting, and the attraction is building. It's time to take it to the next level but here's the rub: This girl is the definition of uniqueness, creativity and spontaneity. A couple weeks ago she came to class in a victorian era dress because she 'felt like it' (yeah I had fun with that one ). A week ago she dyed her hair bright red. Two days later it was dyed bright blue. And I'm only getting started... Yeah her personality is incredible! I've never dated a girl like this. Hell I've never MET a girl like this. But I'm hooked and really interested! I know I just have to seal the deal. In the past I've always had success with coffee dates to get things rolling with women. But this girl is so different that I feel out of my game and I'm doubting what has always worked. Part of me says it doesn't matter what I do because she seems so interested. The other part of me says taking this girl on a coffee date is almost insulting because coffee dates are SO TRITE. I don't wanna kick myself later for doing something stupid (or is it stupid?) Questions: Anyone here have experience dating exceptionally unique girls? Is a coffee date too ordinary here or am I just making up excuses? I wanna do something more off-the-wall but haven't thought of anything good yet. I have class with her on tuesday and my mind is set on doing SOMETHING
Intricategirl Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I used to be like this, and still bust it out from time to time. Coffee isn't bad because if she's into you, she's into you. Besides, you're likely to end up feeling like you have to constantly top yourself... First date, skydiving. Second date, flying the plane. Third date, hijacking it?!? I'd grab coffee, try to figure out something cool like roller derby, and chat about it. If she's into it, suggest maybe going soon. Then you've got a built in second date for something she's into.
welikeincrowds Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Take it from someone who made this mistake. If she likes you, it is because you are already interesting and different enough to her. You don't have to compensate by guessing at what kind of weird **** she likes for herself, because she might find you give her a variety in her life of a different, not-so-eccentric kind. The trite dating advice stands: be yourself and do stuff you're interested in, and trust that it's good enough. Because if she likes you, she likes you for that, and that's what you want anyway. Sigh, someday I will find another crazy girl who wants to go to the shooting range with me. I'll be saving my first time (shooting) (guns) for her.
Author fortuitous Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 Awesome, this is what I figured (and wanted to hear of course). I just needed to hear it from someone else. Thank you lady and gent
Kamille Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Ooh, she does sound fun. T The trite dating advice stands: be yourself and do stuff you're interested in, and trust that it's good enough. Because if she likes you, she likes you for that, and that's what you want anyway. Golden advice. I agree with IG and WLIC, she already digs you. Don't sweat it. Suggest stuff that you're interested in. What do you like to do for fun? I know I just have to seal the deal. In the past I've always had success with coffee dates to get things rolling with women. But this girl is so different that I feel out of my game and I'm doubting what has always worked. You don't have to seal the deal. It would just be a bonus to a great time. And you're not out of your game: you're right in the zone. She's an invitation to be a free-spirit. Have fun!

Kamille Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Ah, multiple varied interests. You sound great. skateboard, One of my favorit-est dates was with a skater. We had gone out for drinks, and after our drinks we walked through the local skate park (on our way back to our respective places). There was no one around so we would just run around, jump and climb on the ramps, borders, etc. He exemplified a few tricks. We had a blast. Totally spontaneous and totally fun.

Intricategirl Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Mini-golf. Seriously. Actually, yeah. That would be cool. Any of the retro-cool stuff would be awesome. Mini golf, bowling, even bingo. Ha! I gotta say it- this thread makes me giggle. I like seeing people all filled up with butterflies.
Author fortuitous Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Mini-golf. Seriously. Definitely, I went on many mini-golf dates in high school. Crazy enough, there aren't any mini-golf places close to my college :/

Intricategirl Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I know, this thread is awesome! Nothing better than seeing someone enjoy planning a date! I think it's that he's so into her you can hear the drool falling from his mouth, and she seems really into him too, and the worst thing they have to worry about is how much fun they're gonna have. He's into this girl BECAUSE she's being herself, and that's just a beautiful thing to see.
