jane100 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) Lots, possibly? I'm always struck how Nexus is a handsome robot (but enjoy your posts, so no disrespect!), Paddington bear is a soft toy, Carhill is a sepia picture of a child on a bike, and there's someone else who has a soft porn/sexy picture who complains about the same in her life, and so on ... just keeping my eyes open on this one Edited March 27, 2011 by jane100
Ross PK Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Usually whenever I use an avatar it's always a picture of myself. I don't know what that says about me.
runner Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 it says that i enjoy swedish pop musik that aside and minus the text, i like the image. oh and i love paddington's avatar
Author jane100 Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 LOL! But why no picture here, or is that obvious?!
SmileFace Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 What is my avatar? (posted this just to see) (EDIT) (OH! that is what my avatar is , hmm I wonder what it says about me?..:-) )
Mrlonelyone Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 My avatar was a picture of myself smiling. I was told by one person here that I might look too "Playa playa" to some women. Then others told me that I looked East Indian or something (I can't imagine how)?
Ross PK Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 LOL! But why no picture here, or is that obvious?! Guess I just don't want anyone who I know in real life who may be on here to recognise me, since I've spoken about a lot of embarrasing personal stuff. Or it could be someone walking down the street who doesn't know me who spots me and thinks 'that's that guy who's on that website always talking about how he can't get a woman and he's 35 and a virgin'. I know the latter is pretty unlikely (probably the former too), but I just don't want to take the risk.
Mrlonelyone Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Jane your avatar says to me that you are open and don't place allot of limits around yourself. That's what that landscape looks like to me. Carhill's picture I think is him as a kid. He looks Dennis the menace like. Smile faces's avatar is paradoxically not of a smiling face. Though the face does look pleased (sexually).
carhill Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Carhill is a sepia picture of a child on a bikeFTR, that 'child' is me, reflecting the era (note my perfectly arranged outfit) and the little shyte-eating grin on my only-child face. Dad, the amateur photographer, took it on my BD in 1962. Perhaps it says that, inside, in some ways, I'm still a child at heart. LOL... Also, to me, it reflects upon and honors my parents, both of whom are now dead. They gave me the best start anyone could ask for. The rest of life was/is up to me. That's about it.
Author jane100 Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 Its a beautiful picture by the way, and I guessed all that without you saying, apart from the honouring of your parents.
Mme. Chaucer Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 My avatar says that I am a redhead with a love of retro-pinup type of style who has a message for you.

That's very poignant, Carhill. I liked reading it.
carhill Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I inadvertently made myself younger...the picture was from 1961. The full size series of baby pix have been available in my LS album. I've found avatars, especially the abstract ones, to be entertaining and often humorous. Further, I note some posters change theirs regularly, perhaps indicating changes in feelings, focus, perception or perspective. Mine has been essentially the same throughout LS history, perhaps indicating, at my age, for myself, things are relatively set, even as life changes every day, and that I like familiarity.
Author jane100 Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 Well my avatar: now I think about it screams "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind", i.e. I don't know, so I will learn alot. And also represents my idea of heaven. Of course I can get a bit "arsey" too, er, thats not in the picture.

This is absolutely correct. My avatar is usually changed to reflect how I am feeling, or a perception of myself. However they are usually only for me to understand, if that makes sense. My current avatar as Lonely said is a face that looks pleased sexually. It is easy for anyone to see that however that is not what it means to me. It is more about being able to be free and be myself .To be able to express myself how I feel appropriate.
Mrlonelyone Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) This is my girls ask guys avatar. http://images.girlsaskguys.com/userImages/bca84157e2c83bb5/thumb.jpg?1433 It is a blown up image of the character \hbar( ħ ). It hints at something I am interested in as well as my real name. Edited March 27, 2011 by Mrlonelyone
somedude81 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 My avatar is a metal sign that I have hanging on my wall. I'm trying to prove to myself that nice guys don't finish last. So far, I've been wrong
zebracolors Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 the name and avatar are just sort of a play on words in the sense that life is usually never "black and white" or straightforward when it comes to romance and social interactions. There is always shades of colors in between. Technically its supposed to be "shades of gray" but as an artist, I take notice of colors everywhere. its been different pictures before but this current one is the one Ive had up the longest now.
Disillusioned Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Mine says: love me, love my politics. If you really want to know what I look like behind that mask, you must have some kinda fetish. There ARE pics of me online however... catch me if you can.
welikeincrowds Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Mine says that I lack a meaningful personality By the way I notice that people respond more favorably to posts made and advice given by posters who have an attractive avatar. It's not surprising, but it's almost a bad thing.
daphne Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Carhill's is my favorite. Mine says I am fiercely anonymous but this is who some friends say I resemble.
Art_Critic Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Mine says I'm a clown with some character.. a boozing in need of a bath clown..
