Ross PK Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I'm just wondering how obvious it is and what it is that they actually do.
spice4life Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 in the past I was hit on agressively because I didn't know that men mistook my friendliness as flirting. They were thinking, "oh, she is being nice and flirting with me so she must like me." And the WHOLE time I was thinking of things as simple friendly conversation. I was never given the info that men can mistake friendliness for flirting. I was recently hit on by a married man and mistook HIS friendliness as nothing other than business. I was thinking to myself that he's married so he couldn't possibly be hitting on me. HUGE mistake. After close observation I realized he was definitely hitting on me, so I changed the dynamic by not accepting offers to meet outside of business. I didn't meet him outside of business and I am really happy that I avoided it. I have since realized that when I come in contact with someone new, I have to make it abundantly clear that there is no interest other than business...period. This lesson taught me that I have to adjust my friendliness so they don't mistake it as flirting. Back to your question, how obvious is it that someone is hitting on woman? In the single world it's obvious. The confusion comes in when it is a married person. But now that I've learnt that lesson recently, I will never be confused again! Thank goodness.
missmac Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 sometimes if im out, and I see guy im really in to -and I have one of those - do something now or regret it forever- moments. I will go up to him and say something like "I lost my phone number, can I have yours?" pick up lines work magic for me If the object of my desire is a friend of someone I know - I might go up to them before I leave and make out with them. It makes a scene, it surprises them, and its most likely something that a girl has never done to them before - so 9 times out of 10, I will get a text from my friends asking if they can give the guy my number. I like to be memorable.
Memphis Raines Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 sometimes if im out, and I see guy im really in to -and I have one of those - do something now or regret it forever- moments. I will go up to him and say something like "I lost my phone number, can I have yours?" pick up lines work magic for me I guess it depends on the type of guy you use it on. If it were me, the first thing that would run through my mind would not be flattery, but rather how many other guys you used that line on.
missmac Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 whether someone would be flattered or not, they should at least be a little impressed.......... not many girls out there initiating conversation
johan Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Normally when a woman does that, the first thing that happens is the guy gets turned off. So you should be able to tell by watching the guy.
dreamingoftigers Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Lol, I mean women hitting on men. I just caught that. I just asked them out if I liked them enough. I usually didn't have to and it didn't happen all that often.
Memphis Raines Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 whether someone would be flattered or not, they should at least be a little impressed.......... not many girls out there initiating conversation initiating conversation, sure. using a line. sorry, there are some men not so weak minded and would only think with the little head in that situation. I don't play games, and I appreciate someone who is confident enough to come up and start up a conversation without a line, or someone that seems to be the female equivalent of a player.
TokyoG33kyGal Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 lol i have been told once by a guy that he feels like the girl in the "relationship" (quoted since we were not yet exclusive that time) i use double entendre and puns a lot but not in a flirty sexy way like girls do. i like guys who have a sense of humor so it feels like an intellectual intercourse when he can follow my line of thought.
