PhillyDude Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I get so annoyed when a phone conversation eems like an act on stage and we are REHEARSING our lines-lol I like natural flowing conversation that doesn't seem like a job interview. I wasn't on the phone 5 mins and I get these type of questions 1. When is your birthday 2. What is your sign? 3. What do you like to do for fun 4. Do you like your job 5. What do you do for a living? I was turned off and never called her again ecause she was UNABLE to be herself and not have a conversation with drilling me with question after question. Anyone else go through this?

How about you? What sort of things did you say or ask her to get a conversation going? I usually ask stuff like what they did that day/that weekend or what they have planned, usually that gives a bit of insight to what they like to do or a peek into their life that sparks something to talk about. Im pretty relaxed and can talk about anything, so for me if a convo is forced or dead, then I know I definitely dont click with the guy. But I could hold a conversation with a rock LoL! So it doesnt often happen to me... She was supposed to do what you did.........Talk about things that is relevant at that particualr time. Not ask something crazy like What is your sign?

I only say that because, knowing myself and that I have an easy time with it, if I am talking to someone who seems nervous or lost for words, I dont leave them hanging. I try to do what I can to get a convo going...
