samsungxoxo Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 As a child, I was never really interested and still don't care. I'm about to turn 24 years old next month. Now today was mother was a bit concerned at first about this... me hardly knowing anything about it but there is an advantage... I'm studying and paying for my classes but work too. Still.. should I even bother trying to learn that because I'm really not interested at all... boring. Well I know a bit and can defend myself, but only the basic.
slehcar Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Are you living on your own or with your mother/parents? If you're living on your own, YES, you should bother with it! You don't have to have a perfect and sparkling clean house, and you don't have to aspire to be a gourmet chef... but having a clean living space can be kind of important to your physical health. A clean house is a less likely home for mice/rats, gross insects, etc. ... that alone is why I try to keep our home clean-ish. Learning to vacuum once a month and sweeping when the floor needs it, maybe even mopping isn't going to kill you. I daresay hardly anybody ENJOYS doing it, but its not that bad. But I suppose if you really can't handle it, you can hire a maid. As for learning to cook, I never had much interest in it either until I became a stay-at-home mom. It turns out that its quite a bit cheaper to cook some of your own food, and generally, a LOT healthier. I still have no desire to be Bobby Flay or anything, but I have found it saves us money to make our own food versus when we eat out a lot. Plus once I decided to start losing weight, its nearly impossible to eat out frequently, because that's why I had to lose weight in the first place.
