Mangomonkey Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Seriously i come across this quite a few times. So far the majority of women, if not all, assumed all men are whores. I laugh it off but if i assume all women are whores Im labeled a jerk. Even if its true. Men have feelings to. Am I the only one who come across something like this?
LeaningIntoTheMuse Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Because most women see that sex is easy for THEM to get, and so they can't understand it when a guy has trouble getting sex.
Romeofud Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I've always been labeled a jerk or something of the other lol. It's better to get that label or a man-whore over the kiss-of-death nice guy title .
Knittress Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Because most men... are? When you have strangers constantly throwing themselves at you knowing nothing of who you are on the inside, you figure it's because the sex act isn't particularly intimate for them (i.e. cheap).
Woggle Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I've always been labeled a jerk or something of the other lol. It's better to get that label or a man-whore over the kiss-of-death nice guy title . This is true. Having the reputation of being a player never hurts men in the dating world.
Leeway Harris Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Well, if a woman thinks "all men are (something)" then she'll only look for men who are that thing. It's confirmation bias. If she meets a man who seems not to be that thing, she may not even recognize him as a man. I'd rather be with a woman who doesn't bring a lot of preconceived notions about what men are like, and sees me as an individual.
SteveC80 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Because women can dish it out but cant take it and since we coddle them they are used to labeling Men or being shallow or insensitive with no reprecussions but if Men do it were pigs As far as being whores i see plenty of horny women having sex with random guys, having kids out of wedlock women forget it it takes two to have sex I also see more women then Men in porn, theryes millions of female groupies who randomly bang famous people just to say that they did, 99% of groupies are female
persevere Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Because that's what the media and all the girlie magazines say. There are lot's of men out there who are not out only for sex. I think women are a bit more suseptible to generalizations. Plus, they go by personal experience. They go out and get hit on far more than men ever would. Also, they may not notice the guy who is quiet and reserved, who likes them and would want something long term. It's all perception.
MistyBryant Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 It's because a lot of women believe that all men have sex on their mind all the time. Also the media as us believe that men only want one thing and that's to find that one girl who willing to have sex that one night.
somedude81 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I'd love it if women thought I was a whore. It would be much easier for me to start getting some action.

Men are the inititaters we approach what we like visually then we see if we connect,im sorry we cant look at you and try to figure out that your an amazing person inside and out
HeartOnSleeve Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I guess it depends what vibe you're "giving off" to these women? Maybe it's the conversation you are having? I have a guy friend who talks about sex all the time, the women he dates etc. and he is far from a man whore but becuase he talks about it all the time with women they just assume he's like that. Just a thought Sorry you are being judged!

The women who approached me didnt approach bcause they saw my beautiful inner being either Both sexes love sex get over it,women want men to think theyre the most special human beign ever and pretty at the same time before even approaching
LeaningIntoTheMuse Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Women are definitely just as shallow as men. Probably even more shallow, because they factor in personality, while a man can be happy with just sex.

Not saying all women are shallow but men don't have a monopoly on shallowness by a long shot.

Personally, I don't go around calling people offensive names. If you mean, why do I assume most men will sleep with me pretty darn easily, it's because a lot of men have tried to sleep with me and I haven't met too many men who are really super-choosy about who they'll bang. I've met a few, and I definitely think men choose to see sex as something important, rather than casual (i.e. They have options, they have a high libido, and yet they've chosen not to take them, even despite attraction in some cases) are sexier and better longterm partners. But those are rare specimens indeed!

I do not think that all men are "whores." I do think however that many just want sex without loving and caring for the person, and without having a committed relationship. That does not mean that all men are like that though.
somedude81 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 One thing that I assume doesn't need to be said but I'll say it anyways. It's much harder for a man to be a whore than a woman is. When a man is a whore, it means that a lot of women are attracted to him. And thus when a woman hears about it, she will become more curious about him. Sure some prudes might be scared away. So what?

fishtaco Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Who cares. That just means if you act like a whore, women will be... oh boys will be boys, and you can get away with pushing the limit. So push the limit. Unless you're the top 5% of men that women will trip over each other to get at (which unsurprisingly, they're more likely to be whores, because they CAN), you have to push the limit or you will not get anywhere. Or you could choose to be the "the man that women want you to be", and you will very quickly find out that you will have their love and respect, and become their bestest friend in the whole wide world. Think of it this way. If the manwhore is so undesirable, then how can he be a manwhore at all? He'd be a creepy virgin.
threebyfate Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Psychologist Norman R. Brown at the University of Michigan has done several studies on the apparent flaw in these surveys. The latest was a web-based survey of 2,065 heterosexual non-virgins with a median age in their late 40s. The women reported on average 8.6 lifetime sexual partners. The men claimed 31.9. Rather than let it go at that, Brown and his colleagues later in the survey asked the participants to rate the truthfulness of their response. About 5 percent—both men and women—said they lied. In addition, more than 10 percent said they knew their answer wasn't accurate. http://www.livescience.com/7038-men-report-sex-partners-women.html
fishtaco Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 http://www.livescience.com/7038-men-report-sex-partners-women.html Haha yup. Usually you want to divide the number men tell you by 2, and multiply the number women tell you by 2. Which in this case, sort of works out. The average is around 16 for both men and women.

Which in this case, sort of works out. The average is around 16 for both men and women. I always assume that whenever a woman volunteers her number of sex partners, she is lying. I usually multiply whatever number she says by 2 as well. My girlfriend says 8. Complete bold-faced lie, I think, but it doesn't bother me much.

Yeah, it's a pretty common "dating street smarts" type thing to multiply the number women tell you by 2. But other than being amused by this little theory, it doesn't bother me how many partners the woman has had in the past. I pay attention to other more important stuff. So I think maybe women will start to divide their actual number of partners by 4, to compensate for the 2 that men will be multiplying.
EyesWideOpen Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Personally, I blame how society pressures women to essentially protect themselves. Growing up as a girl, we are taught that sex causes us to be "that girl" - the sluts, the hussies, the undesirables that no worthwhile man would EVER want. In the same blow, it is impressed upon us to watch out for "that guy" who wants us only for the sex (which, again, we are not supposed to give up in order to avoid being "that girl"). "That guy" is instinctively cunning, a liar, and deceitful...thus you never know who "that guy is". Enter the paranoia and defensiveness that creates the base assumption that a guy must be a sex-craze man-whore...unless proven otherwise. In no way am I implying that it is fair, or even accurate. I'm just saying our mommies taught us to be this way.
