mortensorchid Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I feel rather fearful. On a MeetUp group this Saturday, they are having a singles event, a dance. Here is the link towards it: I feel a little desperate. Would anyone go to something like this? Has anyone? I'm not telling any of my friends that I am considering this. Do I have anything to loose? I guess not, but I feel kind of embarrassed that I am even considering doing this.
Intricategirl Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I don't dance. So this would be excruciating for me. But if it was something that interested me, totally. I mean, it's a singles dance. Why would you feel stupid? Everyone there is single (well, let's hope), and they like to dance. Go. Have fun.
alexlakeman Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 In theory it sounds great.. In reality? For me at least, I don't know if I'd hit up one of those meetups. Someone here tried it a few months ago and she was happy with it. I guess it would be better going with a friend that is also looking to meet someone... But who knows maybe everyone goes alone.. You should go!! ..then tell us how it went
Author mortensorchid Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 I've decided I'm going to give it a whirl. If anything else, it's just an excuse to go out and meet others. Since it's not in a bar, the idea is that we'll be able to meet supposedly better people than those you would/could find in a bar, right? Dancing isn't exactly the point here, but that's the group activity in mind. And even though I'm not the best dancer, I will give it a try.
