LucreziaBorgia Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Ha. Cute! 15 pages until it was even recognized. Recognized it immediately. I've been a fan since 1988. I was late getting to the thread, unfortunately. Don't have a lot of time to post here anymore. Kudos from me though for your excellent taste! As for genius IQs - not every person with a genius IQ has an equal amount of 'common sense'. I've met some really 'dumb' geniuses in my time. Unfortunately, and I'm not afraid to admit it - my IQ is up there, but I can be really, really dumb at times when it comes to decision making - my brain has a high IQ but my heart unfortunately doesn't and I tend to think with my heart outside of an academic setting. Lots of people have that problem: high IQ, but a shaky EQ. Watch out for those types. Oh, and a lot of 'us' are dorks: gamers, Star Trek nerds, manga nuts, tabletop gamers, Sci Fi dorks, awkward looking, etc. In other words, not terribly desirable. You will have a lot of 'weeding out' to do if you are looking for a high IQ and a 'top shelf' woman. For every Danica McKellar, there are a thousand Dawn Wieners. That said, I wouldn't base a dating criteria entirely on IQ. Are there any other interests you have that could add to that to make it more of a sliding scale?
Ms. Joolie Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) ChessPieceFace, I did not get a chance to respond to you yesterday but wanted to share some thoughts with you. I speak from the genius I know is within. Somewhere. Just kidding. I just think that you are excluding people from your circle based on your IQ. This WILL leave you isolated the rest of your life. You will have to figure out why the rest of humanity is also special, why they have a place in your world. Going back to this one: So I tend to see emotions as a weakness that allow you to be hurt or make poor decisions. Emotions are a form of expression in every human being. Because of your past, you are tying this self-expression to weakness, being hurt and making poor decisions. Expressing yourself and sharing your emotion is a powerful, powerful form of communication, a means of being heard. Going back to this one, too: Maybe if I can see any kind of positives from an actual person, then I will have something tangible to balance out all the negatives. What exactly are you looking for in people? What are these positives you want to see? Kind of drawing a blank now, maybe I'll think of more later. You were creating yourself to be logical, sensible, understated, confident, ethical and someone who challenges himself. Always keep in mind who you are for yourself and for others. I find this to be an excellent practice. Nevertheless, there are still at least grains of truth in what I'm saying, and when I look at the relationships around me I don't see a lot of happiness. The relationships around you work for their own reasons. Unfortunately, not a whole lot of relationships are consciously and actively out for happiness. It would be an interesting quest to start asking random couples if they are happy inside their relationship. Looking for happiness, you may be disappointed. However, that should not deter you from being responsible for the happiness in your life, in your relationships. Edited March 23, 2011 by Ms. Joolie
dispatch3d Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Ha. Cute! 15 pages until it was even recognized. Yeah, the thread is just overflowing with tolerance and non-arrogance from everyone but me right? The majority of people's posts here are a collective joke, one long endless flame. You have illustrated my points about the terrible faults in humanity better than I ever could have. It's sad that none of you get the punchline. But again, thanks to those few of you who actually possess any amount human decency and showed it in your responses. One of the biggest keys to getting along with people is not pissing them off. Any kind of criticism of others is a really bad idea. You could read "How to win friends and influence people". May help you. If you are pissing off everyone in this thread, or getting a lot of hatemail then prehaps you are doing something wrong. Fair to say most people on her are generally spitefully/angry/flamers though.
Eddie Edirol Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 The OP doesnt want to admit that woman are the only thing in life that he has done no research on, and probably didnt even know there was info on it. If he did the research, he can find the dynamics of dating, and the general psychology of women, and find out what he did to turn off the women he was asking out. If hes too proud to do that, well, what canya do. The help is out there.
Mme. Chaucer Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Some of the self proclaimed geniuses here are not illustrating their elevated intellectual status very well through their use of the English language or debate technique. Perhaps this group of Neanderthals does not warrant bothering with such things ... but then, why play in this stupid sandbox at all?
Mrlonelyone Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Mme. That's because the truly intelligent know how to select their words for the purpose of communicating with their intended audience. Only those who are trying to look intelligent will use big words, or complicated language that those around them can't understand in order to demonstrate their intelligence. How intelligent would it be for me to write something in incomprehensible words like this? 不是目的,寫作溝通? Words in English that might as well look as those above? It says...Is not the purpose of writing to communicate? So what is the purpose of writing out a complex rhetorical argument using big words when one such as this ... which I hope is well illustrated and clear will do the job nicely? In short...why should I try to talk over peoples heads when it's much more intelligent to talk to their face?
cerridwen Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I wish I had seen this earlier as a resident certified genius on this board. lol. A self-proclaimed "resident certified genius"! My vote for Resident Genius is Frisky
Mrlonelyone Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Whatever. First I have nothing to prove to any of you. Second even if I showed you my credentials and achievements in science, which many smart people have failed at doing what I have done, would it make a difference? If I did then you would just use that to say I was bragging even more.

Or is it that, to cite one of your favorite phrases: you can't or won't understand a very simple argument that most of us here understood.
4thQtr5Sec Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 This post scares me. Everyone thinks they're a genius or overvalues themselves. A real genius.. val kilmer. Remember that movie?? hahahah that was awesome. Any real genius knows that a true genius is a person who figures out how to live happy, and die happy. He could be stupid as hell.. but, if he can accomplish that, he's a genius
