Mildew Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Hi Guys, This is my first post but I hope to become more involved in this wonderful community! I just wanted to see what other people's thoughts were on my current situation. Here it is... I am in a very loving relationship with my boyfriend and we have been together for around 4 years. He is a christian and I am not. Recently I have been thinking about my future and what I want out of our relationship - kids, marriage, a home etc. I have talked to him about this a number of times and he has told me that there were going to be problems but we both ignored them because it was too hard to deal with. Recently I began to research what types of problems a christian and an atheist would have and found that it was likely that he was going to tell me that he can't marry me or have children because the bible advises against it. I confronted him with what I have found and he basically agreed with it. As you can imagine I was quite upset (still am) and I just don't know what to do. He said that he was going to pray to god to tell him if we could be together. I completely respect his beliefs and understand him wanting to do that but in the mean time I am so hurt and upset and I don't know how long I should wait for an answer or what to do. Even just the thought of losing him makes me feel sick. I don't think I could live without him :'( It really helped me to get that off my chest but I am also interested to see what other people think or would do in this situation. Thanks!
