alexlakeman Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I am having a problem keeping track when I go to email someone knowing if I've emailed them b4 or not. I don't see a way like on Match; where when you click to email them, your prior contact history shows up. On POF, the only way around the problem I know if you have to put the person on Favorites, then it has an option for contact history... but once I contact them and no reply , I need to delete from favorites, so I Can keep track and keep it organized... Other than manually putting your "sent" fold in alphabetical order and having to scroll through it each time, has anyone discovered an easier way ? BTW, POF, seems better, in my area atleast, than OKC, but still behind Match..that's in my area and age brackets...your results may vary.. thks

POF is better but my technique is that i write them down. i have a little booklet and i actually write who i have talked to down. it helps me keep track of the people that i wasnt really interested in and so on so forth. let me ask u a honest question... Do u think half of those people in there are looking for something unrealistic or are they just having a good time with it? sometimes i come across guys that tell me that they are looking for something serious and when we web cam they take out theyre penis and that gets kind of annoying.
Art_Critic Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Not sure if POF has a way to do this but many moons ago when I was single and dating thru match as soon as I sent off an email I would remove them from my searches, match used to have a feature to remove a person from your search. That way I never sent them a second email say a month or 2 later because they just weren't in any searches..If they replied to my email, great. if not I didn't have to worry about sending them another.. next.... Who wants to be that guy that keeps emailing rejection after rejection ?

I was on POF for a brief time, and had to get off when dudes were emailing me the SAME DAY (before I had even had a chance to respond) because they couldn't keep their contacts straight.

It would be silly to go back in your sent folder after a week to see if you emailed someone.. the person would be 10 pages back It's all part of the deal.. Men chase..

Yeah, I might have to make a note in word or something... I don't think 1/2 the people are seriously looking for anything other than a game; especially guys, but that's kinda sick what you mentioned; never heard that one before, lol.. You should probably be better off talking on the phone first before using the cam and see how weird they sound, lol... POF doesn't have that feature, Match does and I that on match. My match searches , emails sent, emails received, and favorites are kept in order. If I see a few people I am interested in and can't email them at the time, I favorite them; I send an email later on; I paid for the feature where it shows when read, so 1-2 days after I see they read my email, if they don't respond, I delete them from my search and from my sent folder; if someone comes up in my search I don't like I delete them, keeps things pretty organized.. do u think its right to tell them ur not interested? ive contemplated just saying that. Seroiusly, don't bother. Us guys are used to rejection, lol... I typicallly only expect a 20-30% response rate on my emails sent out. I'll send out 10 emails and get back 2-3, maybeeeeeeeeeee 4 responses.. Women typically never send the first email, and 1/2 the time when they do, they are totally not my type, too old, or ?? I guess why they send the emails out.
irc333 Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I had one woman I emailed on POF that of course, didn't respond......about a few months later, I joined OK CUPID and unknowling emailed the SAME woman. Apparently she had a profile on THAT site too...she responded to THAT email saying, "You just contacted me on the other dating site, sorry, I don't think we're a match" LOL Woops.
