bloppy Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 What exactly does the term full disclosure mean? Is it just owning up & saying yes I did it or is it giving all the details? If it is giving all the details how can you get your SO to spill it? I want to know everything, who, what, why, and how. When I ask my H he tries to play it off like he didn't really care about her. When I point out that I read it in an email he says "did I say that?" or he will tell me that he can't remember. I think he is trying to protect me from more pain but it really ticks me off.

He isn't trying to protect you....he is protecting himself. Facing up to our shortcomings is part of maturing and doing better. As long as he is running from you and himself, you can forget getting all the details. Though I am not sure we ever get ALL the details.
UnsureinSeattle Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Full disclosure, of course, means exactly that. He needs to tell you everything you want to know. If he keeps dribbling out truth here and there, it's going to be impossible for you to reconcile (if that's the goal).
What_Next Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Full disclosure is a literal term, it means just that. FULL! If you ask positions, perfume type, dates, times, whatever. Full and honest answers. If you ask the same question 5000 times, he gives the same answer (assuming he is telling the truth) 5000 times. If he cannot do this then reconciliation will likely fail. Trickle truths and half truths do not protect you, only him.
