Silly_Girl Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Hello, I am completely lost!!!! There seems to be masses of old posters with new names but also, if I'm honest, there's a few new posters who seem to emulate existing posters a great deal... Is there any way of looking this up in member list? I assume not, but I've only ever used this name and it's odd addressing one personality who seems like they may well be someone else. And if I'm alone in this and over-thinking it then please feel free to ignore me and the thread will soon disappear in to history and perish
Spark1111 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Well, it certainly could be true? I don't think it can be proven or discovered or truly ascertained. I truly do not care. Cannot understand the motivation behind it. So I think the only choice to is take it all at face value and post the best advice possible.
spice4life Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I'm with spark111 on this one. It doesn't really matter to me and I usually post on the topics where I think I can provide some insight. I haven't been around that long, so I'm only familiar with the posters who have been around since I joined.
bentnotbroken Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I noticed things too. I am not sure if they are former posters or if they are people with the same type of mindset. I think it would be pretty hard to prove though.
Hazyhead Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Hi SG, hope you're okay I agree with the others. It makes no difference, certainly for the posters looking for advice. In the past I have considered the same thing and only got myself into an argument or two, to my regret. Consequently I now I don't bother with it because arguing was definitely not what I came here to do. Face value now all the way!
Jonah Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 If it is only yourself you are looking for, You only get one shot, do not miss your chance don't blow this opportunity comes once in a lifetime.
WorldIsYours Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 You only get one shot, do not miss your chance don't blow this opportunity comes once in a lifetime. Nice quote from Eminem.
Amour7 Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 I don't know who you are referring to, but I am new, for real. I feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon this forum and only regret not knowing about it sooner. It can feel really lonely out there IRL when you feel you can't share this stuff. If people sound familiar, I wonder if that could just be because similar difficult circumstances are at play. I have been amazed by how much the other posters' experiences resonate with mine. On the other hand, I haven't been around here long enough to know what you're referring to. At any rate, I'm just thankful this forum is here.
awkward Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 There are posters that resurface with a new identity for many reasons. Some don't want their old posting history associated with them anymore and some others were forced to leave and want to still be able to post. We can't really tell who is new or old or dual (except for a few obvious cases) and in the end it doesn't really matter to me. There is a reason an OP starts a thread and if I feel I can contribute something to that thread then I post. The only time it really bothered me was when it became obvious that an OP was a former poster spinning a tale. I know of one dual identity (just stumbled upon it) and I kind of understand it even though I don't think it is necessary.
Mme. Chaucer Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 I like the dancer and the California beach bunny the most. I also LOVE the dancer!
Jane Deaux Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 I'm new here as well. Well, I posted a long long time ago when I was younger and pre-marriage. Over a boyfriend. I never forgot the site. When my current situation began, this is the first site I came too. I enjoy this site and many of the points of view. There are only one or two that I have found myself SMH at. I noticed someone said something earlier and then maybe quoted as another person??? At any rate, I was confused, but it could have been a coincidence.
