My girlfriend and I have been together for 2 years, and things are getting more serious every day. So much so, that I think there's a very good chance that we'll be married, maybe in a few years atleast.

The problem we're having is very strange. She was born with a hole in her heart and suffers from heart problems. She's had more than a few heart attacks and she's only 20. If she didn't have this heart condition, she'd be in perfect health.

A few weeks ago, while we were making love, she had another heart attack. You have no idea the horror of making love to your girlfriend and her whole body becoming rigid as she clenches her chest in what I can only imagine to be the most terrible of pains. I drove her to the emergency room that night and the doctor said that she should be fine and gave her some medication.

While on stage, she's an actress, she collapsed this evening. She's still in the hospital.

I guess I'm posting this for sympathy, and maybe some advice.

You can make a choice to love her thru it or make a choice that this is too big of a deal to live with.

Either way, it doesn't indicate you are being selfish or mean....just that living with someone who has a heart problem IS a big deal.

A continued relationship may mean that the usual daily events of a person may prove to be too much for her. Weddings, child birth, stress in a job.....etc Only YOU can decide if this is what you can support out of love.

If you can...wonderful. If you can't....then that would also be an accceptable decision to make.

I hope she is doing much better!!!!!!! :)

If it's YOU who is looking for sympathy you'll get none from me but your grilfriend has got to be living in constant horror that every moment could be her last. A heart attack is life threatening under the best of circumstances. The heart muscle can only take so much. If you really love her, you will start working the Internet until you find a surgeon somewhere who can repair the hole (or whatever it is) in her heart. There are some very incredible doctors around. Your girlfriend should not be doomed to living a life like this. Instead of posting messages for sympathy, have a heart yourself and dedicate some time to healing your lady once and for all.

I know if I had an ailment that gave me frequent heart attacks, I wouldn't be having sex at all. Mark my words, this happens to her once or twice more and you can forget sex with her. This lady needs help and a lot better quality than she's been getting.

Wow, that must be rough. Learn CPR.

I think the word 'sympathy' was used....but the poster was actually asking for 'support'.

If I had sex with someone who had a heart attack.....I'd feel all goofed up too!!!!

Christopher, she needs to see a heart specialist. This needs to be repaired, otherwise one of these days she isn't going to make it. Heart attacks put a tremendous amount of stress on a heart after it happens. There are long term side effects.

There are clinics and specialists that JUST deal with the condition she has. I would demand that her doctor give her some names, or depending where you live do some research yourself. Google.com is a good start.
