Sergeant K
I was recently asked, by friend, if I would be interested in meeting someone she knew. Of course I said I would. Well couple days later, she gives me the telephone number of the girl. She asked the girl first if she could give me her number. So I have her number, but have never talked to her before and have never seen her before. Which would be better, just call her? or a short text message to start with? If you think I should send a short text first? What should it say?

CM2009
Call first you want to start this thing out positive.....
Confusedalways
Understandably your first instinct would be to text, and I don't blame you, as it's much easier on the nerves. However, you should really call. You don't have to talk for hours. If you call and leave a VM and she texts you back, then you have a different set of cards to play with. curlygirl40
Definitely call first. It's more personal.
New Again
I vote call. Either way, all you have to do is set up a time and place to meet.
jane100
"I'm in the hedge outside your window" I love these AWOL comments on LS . But yeah, I agree, text too cold. Call first. If no answer, no problem, just leave a short message saying you'll try later or ask her to ring you back when she has some time.
