quietGuy13 Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 You guys have read about me being a shy guy but how it's easier for me to talk to foreigners than it is to talk with typical American women. Don't ask me why ...well you can ask me why. Cause the asian foreigners are more in the quiet side like me. so it's easier for me. plus i have something in common with them, i know a bit about their culture cause i've studied. Wel i decided to try to talk to a bunch today. It kinda seems like i was picking up but i'm not. i'm just looking for friends and trying to practice speaking. So i would wait to see if i could see some people and then when i saw a group. i went in and sat next to them and started talking. The first one was a Hot woman. She seemed Chinese. and she was. we talked about what shee's studying, how long she's been here. what she likes etc. At first when i approached her i said HI. but she was like a manekin not saying HI to me. i thought she didn't undertsand me but then she said she just thought I was saying HI to someone else. I also always ask them if they're here just for a few weeks . if they say yes, then i give up in thinking of friendship. cause it's not possible. Some of them say here for 2 weeks or somethign. So i know not to expect anything. But i asked this girl and she said she will be here for 2 years!!! so that's why i went in for the contact thing^^ Anyways, it turned great cause we ended up exchanging email and phone address. wow, that was great. I hope it works. she might lie and not answer but i hope she liked my friendlineess. I tried my best. Then she left to get her bus. Then i stayed around walked around a bit then came back, then i saw another girl. So i approached her said HI. She was very shy. so it was difficult . she did understand english but it seemed she thought i was a pLayboy trying to pick her up so she had her guard up.. and then she didn't want to talk and then she left to her bus. That was kinda sad how some foreigners think i'm a rapist or something. But oh well. just gotta keep trying to find nice people. So i walked around the block then came back, saw a group of 3 girls. appraoched and talked^^ wow, today i had guts One was from China, the other frmo japan. I talked, etc they were surprised i knew some of their language. but then i asked them about how long they were here, they said 2 weeks, and so i just knew to shut my mouth up and i just said "Well welcome and i hope you'll enjoy your stay" then they left to get their bus. Then i went out from there and just waited around then i saw another group of girls . approached them after they sat and talked. It was nice but they were also just here for 1 week. **** But anyways all in all, i was pretty brave today. and i may have gotten a friend from this activity Had some failures( the girl that thought i was a playBoy trying to pick her up) but some really nice successes too. And plus i felt confident after doing it a couple of times. it became easier. I would like to also try to talk to American girls or Hispanic but it's really difficult with them.

She was riding her bike, and she stopped and said hi and we had a bit of conversation She said she'd like to meet me even if i don't give her money. just to talk and chat That was great. today was a very social day for me at work, it's always terrible cause everyone thinks i'm a stupid shy guy but at least outside of work i'm getting some success. BTW i'm still dating and going out with the other girl i've told you about. But meeting more girls is good for me for friendship and more possibilities. so that's why i'm trying all this Edited March 8, 2011 by quietGuy13
Author quietGuy13 Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Hey guys I'm back. After the other day( 3 days ago) that i did this. Today( 2 days after) i decided to do it again. And it was successful. But today i was only able to find one girl. I have never done much of this before but since i read my book(about smalltalk) and have been practicing, i just have the guts and did it. It was kinda hard. TOday there was a KOrean( i think) guy sitting in a bench, the bench was short. Then a girl came and sat there.. leaving a bit of space betwen her and the korean guy. Then there were other girls also sitting in an outside bench. the bench outside was populated by tons of foreign people. they were all like friends, so they were all together and there was no chance to go and talk to those girls at the end of the bench. so i kinda gave up on that one. BUt well, this girl who sat inside. she looked nice and she looked like open to conversation. So i smiled and made eye contact then i said hello. and i sat in the space between her and the korean guy and there we started talking It was a great conversation. although short. and then she said she was here just for 3 weeks and next week is her last. Sooooo too bad. but wel whatever at least i'm glad i got the guts to talk to her.
