I was wondering, has anyone experienced or known anyone who have moved on completely after a break up then a couple of months or years down the line, they remember you and think "dam! she/he was amazing! why did i let him/her go?" even if there was no reconciliation have people ever regretted losing someone great but realising after a long period of time

I had a guy friend who acted like he was over someone for about a year, then when she came running back, he buckled immediately. After contemplating it a bit, it became more and more obvious by the way he talked about her the past year that he was never truly over her. Her friends would ask him if he's interested and he would merely respond "she's not interested in me" instead of "NOPE!"

That said, if a flame is rekindled, then you never truly get over that person. In most cases I would say that having truly gotten over someone, you realize what made the relationship not work and how it probably wouldn't work if you gave it a second shot, whether you were the dumpee or not. Just realize that there are many more equally as amazing partners out there! :)
