noelle303 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 It feels like forever! On one hand I can't believe I am seconds of giving birth, on the other I am due in three days and I really really really want to get things going already!!! This last month seems like 2 years. My hips hurt, my pelvis is crushing, my back are killing me, my joints are sore, I can't sleep, I am swollen, sweaty and it all contributes to me being a big B***C! I am soooooo ready to have my body back! And I am impatient to finally meet my daughter. Everything is ready, nursery ready, diapers in stock, everything sterilized, clean, hospital bag packed, my mom is staying here, and everyone is SO alert...every day I get a thousand phone calls ''Anything happening'' and it's like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I've been having Braxton Hicks since I was 28 weeks pregnant! I want the real deal already! I am still only 1 cm dilated, 90% effaced, I'm having a sweep on Wednesday, my doctor says it could be any time but it's just NOT HAPPENING! I'm bouncing on my ball, taking walks, drinking raspberry leaf tea (it's gross) and a part of me wants to grab some random stranger and have sex with him just to get things going! Grrrrrrrr, any moms here felt the same?!
laRubiaBonita Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 my friend walked... and she walked... and she walked. she almost didn't make it to the hospital the baby came soo fast!
tinktronik Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Walk and nipple stimulation. DO NOT try cod liver oil. Trust me, don't do it.
sb129 Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Oh I remember how that feels..... and I went a week overdue. I was enormous and so OVER being pregnant! I had a sweep the day before I had my daughter if thats any reassurance...I think it definitely got things moving. Raspberry leaf tea is disgusting, I couldn't even drink it- I don't think it mattered anyway in the end I had stretchy enough "bits" to push out a ten pounder with no drugs... Start a really good book- murphys law says baby will probably come before you get a chance to finish it!
lavidaloca Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 It feels like forever, doesn't it? That last month has to be the worst ever. I'm with the poster who said to walk. Lots and lots of walking. That baby is nice and comfy in there, and she'll come when she gets good and ready to, lol. I'm guessing you don't live in the states? I've noticed an increasing trend to induce the last week. Kinda disturbs me, and I think it's b/c doctors are fitting these babies into their schedules. I don't know..maybe I'm way off the mark here. When my DD had her son, every single woman on that ward was an inductee. Just hang in there...she's going to come. Congratulations on your baby girl, and I hope things go wonderfully!
Author noelle303 Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 Start a really good book- murphys law says baby will probably come before you get a chance to finish it! LOL I've been walking and bouncing like crazy... something better start happening! Lavidaloca - I really don't want to have an induction. I know the rates are higher for complications and c-sections. I want her to be ready to be born, not be evicted from there by medications. I know all about doctors who refuse to let a woman go overdue for 1 day and immediately reach out for medical intervention. But my doctor is really great and not like that at all. I go for a sweep tomorrow, fingers crossed things get going!

Thankfully yours isn't one of them! Hope everything goes well tomorrow, good luck!
tinktronik Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I've been checking your thread every 6 hours or so to see if there is a change yet... tehehe. I'm so excited for you.
sb129 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I had an induction booked because I went a week overdue and my amniotic fluid was getting low. My daughter must have decided that she wasn't being told when to come out, and she came out the day before the induction was planned. And boy was she ready! Once she'd made up her mind it was really fast. She is still stubborn.! Good luck with the sweep, and fingers crossed for a fast labour.
LucreziaBorgia Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Hang in there Noelle, I finally had my boy this past Friday and it seemed like the pregnancy was never going to end. I was so happy when I went in and they said "we'll go ahead and check you in today and induce." Here is hoping for as merciful as a birth as you can have - when that baby is in your arms, your world will become brighter by infinite degrees!

Author noelle303 Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 I had a sweep today (ick) and have been having contractions since but they are too far apart (7-11 minutes)...hopefully they continue and get closer together! I'm still only at 1cm. Lucrezia congratulations on your baby boy! I remember when I first found out I was pregnant, you replied to me that you just heard your baby's heartbeat! It's crazy how it gets from that to an actual little human being!
sb129 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 congrats LB! Noelle is prob in there having that baby right now.
whichwayisup Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Hang in there Noelle, I finally had my boy this past Friday and it seemed like the pregnancy was never going to end. LB!! Whooot! Congrats! Hope all went well and that you had some drugs! And, Noelle, hope to hear some good news soon!
Author noelle303 Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 congrats LB! Noelle is prob in there having that baby right now. The unfortunate thing - no I'm not! The contractions after the sweep have stopped. I have another appointment tomorrow and I'm pretty sure they'll be mentioning an induction.
fooled once Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 As long as the end result is a healthy baby, it really doesn't matter how the baby gets out. I had a c-section (emergency) but I am SOOO glad I did - didn't realize, stupidly, how there was NO WAY a baby can come out of there LOL. Even with all the complications I had, I am thrilled I had a c-section....because my son was healthy, the most important thing ever! GOOD luck!
Author noelle303 Posted March 16, 2011 Author Posted March 16, 2011 Hey everyone! I did give birth on Sunday, March 13th, 5.12 am. 6lbs 9oz. My little girl is Savannah and she's beyond perfect and beautiful. We're home now and getting adjusted. From the time my water broke to the time I had her was around 11 hours, so not too bad (although the contractions were longer than that), it was a vaginal birth but with an epidural. Thanks you all for the kind wishes! xxx
tinktronik Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Yeah! Congrats Momma! I'll just bet she's the sweetest thing ever. Keep us posted when you are feeling up to it.
Author noelle303 Posted March 18, 2011 Author Posted March 18, 2011 Yeah! Congrats Momma! I'll just bet she's the sweetest thing ever. Keep us posted when you are feeling up to it. Thank you so much! She's just gorgeous, not much to update about... we're breastfeeding and it's not the easiest thing but everyone told me it's so hard in the beginning but gets progressively easier with time. My mom was staying with me this first week and she goes back home on Monday so it's just gonna be the two of us.

Breast-feeding does get easier and easier, I promise, I BF all three of my boys. Those first few weeks while your nips adjust are a little rough but that all calms down. Have you had anyone help you learn how to latch to make things go smooth as possible? It's so nice at first when the baby is so tiny and you get some time alone just to fall deeper and deeper in love. I am so jealous! I can't wait! 8 more weeks to go tops for me until my bundle makes an appearance.
desertIslandCactus Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Noelle, I'm so happy for you. Congratulations !!
