Titania22 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Hey Guys, I just stumbled onto this video on YouTube, that I found adorable, and wanted to share. I think young guys are awesome, because that make cool stuff like this.

Gypsy_Soul Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 :laugh:I didn't watch the whole thing but was that Napolean Dynamite?
angielove Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 :laugh:I didn't watch the whole thing but was that Napolean Dynamite? Unfortunately, no. Just some random guy doing adorable things. I <3 math.
Nexus One Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Universities are FILLED with guys like that. A few examples of University study fields with a lot of such guys: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Astronomy and Civil/Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical/Software/Aerospace Engineering.
Els Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 After having had my first experience in a computer science class, I have a pretty good idea why some of them think 'she's their limit'... because they literally 'wait til infinity'. -__- They don't even talk to girls!

Just another reason why my decision to do another science degree is so good. Come August, watch out!

Cee Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 My boyfriend studied computer science and he said dating was a nightmare for him in college. Those women's loss is my gain.
SmileFace Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 My boyfriend studied computer science and he said dating was a nightmare for him in college. Those women's loss is my gain. Ugh, I am computer science major and can't get a date with a guy in my major to save my life. I keep attracting the obnoxiously loud business majors..argh You would think it will be easier since in most of my classes the male to female ratio is 7:1

My BF mentioned that he started working in his career during college. Computer programmers are in high demand, despite the recession.
Nexus One Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Ugh, I am computer science major and can't get a date with a guy in my major to save my life. Do you have any idea WHY?
mo mo Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Ugh, I am computer science major and can't get a date with a guy in my major to save my life. I keep attracting the obnoxiously loud business majors..argh You would think it will be easier since in most of my classes the male to female ratio is 7:1 correction: business majors are awesomely loud don't ever make that mistake again

SmileFace Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 you pick them Well I guess you enlightened me ... lol
mo mo Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Well I guess you enlightened me ... lol but u dont want some computer geek you need a baller.. you need a boss You need someone who will pay all your bills, and at the same time, respect your independence
mo mo Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 she will deny it but its clear as daylight actually i was just joking around I know her well. She wants a guy, but she deserves to be choosy. She is quite the catch, actually.
SmileFace Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 she will deny it but its clear as daylight Crawl back into the laundry bag you fell out of, please! Oh yeah, Thanks Mo
mo mo Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 gals get mad when confronted with truth except u dont really know the situation. I do, and I was just kidding. It's an inside joke that you wouldnt get. SO keep your opinion to yourself
SmileFace Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 gals get mad when confronted with truth Grrrrrrrrrr!! lolol haha... sorry to starter of this thread... my word.
Nexus One Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 No, enlighten me. I didn't mean to imply I had the answer, I was just genuinely interested if you knew the reason. But I'll give it a shot since you asked. I don't mean the following in a derogatory manner, just want to make that clear. It's just a sincere assessment based on experience with those guys when I was still a student a few years ago. Many, if not most, male students of the exact science departments at their age are not yet into women enough. Women are on their radar, but they're small vague blips that don't get a lot of attention in that phase of their lives. For most of those guys other interests and priorities are probably winning it from girls/women. It's not that they don't want girlfriends, they'd like to, but just not hard enough at that point. But many of them don't know that yet and even a lot of them think getting a girlfriend would be something really hard, both in terms of acquiring them and in terms of having a relationship with them. And for many of them interest in computers is winning it from interest in women at that point. On top of that many of them are clueless and oblivious when it comes to girls/women. They are clueless and oblivious, because nobody really taught them anything about dealing with girls/women. They're rationalists and a rationalist does not know about a subject(in this case girls/women) if information about that subject has not been transferred to them. Of all the guys that misinterpret female interest signals, the most rational ones take the cake, because they base hardly any of their conclusions on feelings. They'll probably interpret most signs of (subtle) interest as general friendliness. And CS is very much a rational field. Programming, which is a part of CS as you know, is hard core rationality. Figuratively speaking, boolean logic is what dictates a large part of their attitude so to say. If you know how to program, you know how rational those guys think. And you can test that too, just by saying something irrational to them. They'll get pissed. You can push their buttons that way, because it's like introducing a bug into the code, it's kind of funny if you think about it. So what can you do? Be really obvious to them? Well that would generally help with guys, but I think many CS majors are a little more shy and afraid(socially anxious) when it comes to girls so you have to go slow and grow on them, but in time make it obvious to them that you like them. Don't startle them, they need to get used to the idea that a girl likes them. Now business majors. Why do they hit on girls more often? Because they're social animals. Business IS for a large part social interaction. So business majors are quite good in that department. CEO's, top managers and sales people take the cake in that department. They're social animals pur sang, it's what they do, it's how they have to operate daily. And that's where CS majors and business majors differ. The first work behind the scenes, they research things, they develop things, they make things and they like it that way. The second ones are on the front lines of companies. And both types of men will deal with women in the ways they know. CS majors will observe and analyse women, business majors will grab an opportunity when they see it. Of course these are broad generalizations, it will not apply to every CS guy or business major out there, but what would be hard to deny is that there are behavioral patterns that you can spot in these type of guys. SmileFace, what have you tried with the CS guys that you like? And what things didn't seem to work?
SmileFace Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Thanks for the reply. It may not be good to generalize but let us forget about that for a second. I technically answered myself with the statement ,"I am computer science major and can't get a date with a guy in my major to save my life. I keep attracting the obnoxiously loud business majors", and you only help proved it to be true. Many guys in CS as you said "at their age are not yet into women enough". However this proves true for the girls as well. Besides the fact that I am a decent programmer the reason I am in CS is because I like the idea of working behind the scenes. This is actually a huge reflection of my personality. I can't say guys in CS are not interested ,because like them I will not approach. They show no interest in me and vice versa. SmileFace, what have you tried with the CS guys that you like? And what things didn't seem to work? Like I said, I haven't tried. The closest I ever came to dating someone in my field was a pre-med student who decided to take a java class as an elective. Thanks for the reply. I have no problems dating a "computer geek" Roach, just haven't . Even though I am pretty sure two programmers will not be a great match.Damn generalizations. :-)
Woggle Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Many computer geeks want some unattainable hottie who if she does give him a chance will only use him for his money while ignoring the many attractive female nerds around him. They are the male version of women who always date jerks but complain there are no good men. Let's be honest about this. The computer geeks that do manage to get together usually have very strong and lasting relationships.
mo mo Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 you state you have no problem dating a computer geek. next sentence: two won't make a good match. you pick business majors. a ceo is cooler than a computer geek. I'm neither btw. give it up dude
