This pic is a good example. The one on the left: no thanks. The one on the right: yes, yes, yes

I'd actually prefer the not pictured woman whose between the girl in the middle and the one on the right :p

In other words, the far right girl after she toned up a bit.

Throw me in the I-don't-care category. Women are women.

So the visual standard seems to be Scarlett Johansen v. Alessanda Ambrosio. I think 99.9% of guys would be happy with either.

These are the body types I like most: http://bit.ly/ga0JFa

It's not that I don't like curvy women, but I just like the body type in that image more. I'd say the curviest women in that compilation are probably Sandra Bullock, Christina Milian and Michelle Trachtenberg.

Just a follow-on question for you guys (and gals)...do you tend to prefer women (or men) that are more similar to your own body type, whether consciously or subconsciously?

I'll definitely have to go with curvy. I'm also more into butts and legs.

Vida Guerra

I think that's difficult to answer because how do you equate "curvy" women with "curvy men". Moobs are not cool.

But I think it's more like people tend to prefer others that put as much effort as they do, into looking their best.

Just my guess.

God bless America, that woman is perfect. Fishtaco has great taste.

MrNate also prefers curvy, and approves of this thread.

Just curious what guys here prefer in body type..

When I say curves, I don't mean obese. I mean a girl with a curvy bottom and boobs. Or someone thin or waif type..

This is an unrealistic comparison -- a "false dilemma" as one would say in logic. The notion that women are either curvy (with butt and boobs) or waifs are not the only two body types that exist in the real world. A more realistic sampling would be:

  • slender and curvy (with butt and boobs)**
  • chubby and curvy (with butt and boobs)
  • skinny (waif - no curves)
  • fat (often self-described as "curvy" on dating sites - curves are blurred)

** This is what nost men seem to prefer, based on the pictures posted in this thread. Most of the "curvy" examples have been of women who are slender but have boobs and butts. The example from Fishtaco is a slender woman who also has outrageous curves.

I'm naturally slim with small boobs, I can't help the way I look, this thread doesn't do much for my confidence over the way I look.

If you are serious. You need to work on yourself, seriously.

I don't fit one description mentioned in this thread. Ok, I do but I don't care I love me and my body and could care less what people's preference are. People are always going to have something their prefer but there will always be someone who prefers you. Love yourself first - or no one ever will... ;-)

Aren't you in your 40s? At that age group many women have let them selves go. Being slim is a rare positive quality.

Haha. I like to equate women's body with men's wallet size.

Women with hot bodies definitely have an advantage. I'm not going to lie about it and pretend men are not superficial. It's what's in your heart and mind that counts! (excuse me while I go throw up).

But, from your perspective, imagine that as the equivalent of a man with a big wallet. I'm not rich, so should I have low self esteem issues? It's an advantage, no one can argue with that, but it's not like if you're not rich then you might as well go cut off your balls.

So don't worry about it if you don't look like these models and celebrities that people are posting. Most women DON'T look like that. They themselves don't even look like that. Those are with professional make up, professional lighting, camera work, and professional air brushing.

If I ever meet a woman that looks like Vida Guerra, I won't be able to afford her anyway. I'm not a professional athlete or rock star or TV celebrity.

Just look your best (within reason) and you'll be fine.

Have you had any trouble with dating/attracting men?

physically in good shape from a love for exercise with good curves.

not into toothpick thin girls with no curves nor am I into big girls with all sorts of curves.

Men dont care about skinny or curvy.

What men care about are old cow or new cow.

:p:p:p

A fat girl once referred to herself as "curvy" to me. So whenever I see the word "curvy" I automatically think of a woman who has a very large flabby butt, and that is not attractive at all.

I personally prefer an athletic build on a woman. Slightly muscular/toned legs and a nice round butt on a woman are very attractive to me.

My girlfriend's really thin ( <90 pounds) with small boobs. I still get very turned on by her though. She's a babe. I love grabbing her juicy butt ;)

I prefer really thin waif girls to larger ones, but that's just a personal preference I think. I am still turned on by fuller bodied women though :)

This is also what I would have thought. I get the impression most such women, know it. Slim/skinny women where I live don't lack for male attention. In relation to hokie's question, as a thin build guy I have always been attracted to slender, even skinny women, though my ideal body type would be that of a gymnast. The frustrating aspect to this is that the years I was my thinnest, it was the slim/slender/petite women that were the least friendly.

In the past couple of years I have had 2 skinny women, now late 30s who I have known for many years confess to me how they used to always hate their body. Both these women when they were younger used to give off a vibe that they were a bit full of themselves. Used to be critical of other women who were overweight. Likewise when it came to guys they used to complain about so many guys being losers + they were all for the tall or well built guys. It annoyed me hearing this from them, even if a psychologist might say they were just projecting their own insecurities when younger.

Anorexic is not beautiful in my opinion. The concentration camp look is not only scary, it is dangerous. The girl in this picture died due to anorexia and was obviously too skinny: http://i.imgur.com/oQBsL.jpg

Men don't find that look attractive AT ALL.

I'd say body types of the thinnest girls/women in the following picture are the bare minimum, any skinnier would indeed be anorexic and not only unhealthy, but also counterproductive in terms of attractiveness: http://bit.ly/dZC2Ss

If you as a girl are thinner than say Calista Flockheart in that picture, you really need to start eating and gaining weight. For your health, but if that doesn't motivate you enough, then think about the fact that men find the anorexic look is scary as hell, they don't think it's attractive at all. I say this as a guy and I'm certain all men agree with me. The concentration camp look is scary to us, not attractive. That might sound like a harsh way to describe anorexia, but that's how men think about it.
