Insert joke about a sword in your pocket <here>

Zombie apocalypses are one of those things that tends to sneak up on you when your not expecting it.

Don't you want to be dating a guy who's packing heat just in case? :)

Ahh well I live in Australia, so guns are already pretty well banned, unless you are the police. I will just have to settle for someone good with an axe or machete.;)

Just accept this statement for what it is and chalk it up to the strange people you meet on the internet... I actually have interviewed a lot of zombie movie directors and run a zombie club. If there is such a thing as a zombie expert, I'm about level 4/5. And we're trying to get all the people to quit taking their weapons to every meeting because we're already seen as being complete dorks. We'd rather not be seen as dangerous dorks. :p:laugh: And that being said, dear god no, I don't want to be dating a guy with a gun. Bullets are finite and will not be produced once the apocalypse happens. If I get my way, I'll be dating a samurai. :D

I am not too worried, as you know. Zombies can't ride bicycles.

wow, i cant believe all the negativity about this. but alot of the reasons against carrying mentioned on here, i have heard from others so its the same ole. i guess i find it odd that ppl overreact to guns so badly..just because i carry doesnt mean i'm insane. on the contrary, the state and military reassured me of that. i have my CCW and when i was in the military i tried out for TI, or basic training instructor and i passed all the tests, even had to see a shrink and take some pyschological tests for that position. i passed them all.

I'm more of a chainsaw attached to my arm kind of guy & more knowledgeable when it comes deadites.

However I have seen Saun Of The Dead a few times so I think I got zombies covered also. :)

No no and no. I have zero timidity about guns. I do not believe guns = crazy.

But, having knowledge of them and a respect for what they can do, I firmly believe there is a time and a place for such things. You don't seem to have any necessity for being armed at all times and that gives off the impression that you don't really understand the responsibility that comes with gun ownership. Even my grandfather who served in WWII, sold guns and was a former sniper didn't walk around armed everywhere he went.

I have guns myself. But I find people who LOVES guns are really weird. They have this paranoid attitudes about them that are very scary. I know of one person who has a permit to carry that's because he's a jewelry dealer and has been robbed many times before! So unless they're cops or have unique situation I would clearly stay away from these weirdos who brag about carrying.

Yikes. In canada if someone constantly carries a gun its like they are wearing a giant AVOIDDDDD sign on their chest. Differences in culture. I wouldn't knowingly be in the same building as someone who was carrying a gun in public.

As a gun owner, I keep my guns maintained for sporting purposes (hunting, trap shooting, etc.) and have a home defense weapon as well.

The key, I believe, is consistently training with and handling a firearm in a safe and legal way to a point that proper usage becomes second nature. A gun (especially a handgun) is a liability to both the handler and those around him/her if the handler does not have the trigger time, mental clarity, situational awareness, and good judgment to properly use that gun. Usage, in this case, also includes knowing when to leave your gun in the safe.

I can't see any extremely good reason for carrying during a date, unless you're an L.E.O., have a lot of enemies (for example, if you're a D.A. or a judge), or if you're going into an area of town that's known for shennanigans (which probably isn't a good idea for a date anyway).

As a gun owner myself, I don't think it would be a major issue for me. Yes, I would wonder why he's carrying all the time and everywhere, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker by itself. I've know perfectly normal guys, married with kids no less, who carried and it was just something they did and didn't make a big deal about. But if the guy is making a big deal about it or makes it a point to tell people he's carrying when he has no need to tell them, then that would be a red flag -- a red flag from both the perspective of a date and a gun owner.

Back at SunshineD w/ the LE boyfriend: He probably is trying to get you more comfortable with it. If your relationship gets serious enough to be living together, you would have to live with the gun, because he has to live with it for his job.

the reason i carry is because you never know when some crazy person is gonna do something like in Az. i carry concealed and i dont go around telling everyone, but lets say you dated someone like 5 times and then they realized i was carrying, asked if i had always carried and said yea..should the other person be worried then or mad that they didnt know?
