ok so My girlfriend is 18(im 22) and I am deeply in love with her, but Things have been a little hard these last couple weeks. She has been feeling very uncomfortable, we tried to take breaks but it never worked. then she decides that we should write a letter to each other so that we can get all our emotions out without getting emotionally carried away. My letter said of how much I love her, and how things have been rough but no matter what happens, Id rather things be rough and be with her than being alone and this be "perfect".

Her letter is what got me really confused!

She sprayed her perfume on the letter, and said all these loving things. She said I was her first real boyfriend, and that she has never felt this way before, but she is young and that she isn't sure what is going on, and plus she might be going to another state to continue her ballet career. She has depression and she said she needs to figure herself out! she then says she hopes we ended together later on and all that stuff, but I'm wondering, If you love someone like you say you do, why would you want to let them go? and why would you say you love them so much and that you will continue to do so! and the perfume? I really love this girl, and I don't want to let her go? what do I do?

thank you

You let her go.

At the risk of sounding like some geriatric dinosaur stepping off the ark, you're both far too young to be looking at this as a for ever situation, and you both have plenty of life to live, horizons to explore and different experiences to have.

This is in all probability not what you want to hear, but you need to relax your grip and realise that much as it's wonderful, it's not the love of your life.

because while I think she may be trying to let you down kindly, and with good feelings about her - I really think she knows you're not hers.......

You answered your own question. If youre actually in love with someone, you DONT want to be away from them. Hence, she is not in love with you. Something happened that made her lose interest in you. but Like Tara said, she is trying to leave you without any hard feelings.

But check this, the way she is trying to do it without hard feelings is her selfish way if not feeling guilty about not letting you know ahead of time that she has been thinking of breaking up with you fully. She is telling you all the "i love you"s and perfume on the letters so you dont think she is a horrible person. That would make her feel horrible. Since she broke it off with you, and youre going to feel horrible about it, might as well let her think that you think shes a horrible person so you dont have to be the only one. Why? because once a woman loses the attraction to you to the point where she breaks it off, there is no chance of getting her back, and you have to listen to experience telling you thats the way it is.

When she is gone, you lost her for good. She will remember everything you did to make her break it up with you. Deal with it and move on.

I hope you know what you did to make her lose her attraction to you, you will need that reference to avoid doing it for the next girl.
