Let me preface this by saying, I have a boyfriend who I've been dating a few months. He's a wonderful guy but I'm not sure I'm getting "the feelings." I'm hoping whole-heartedly that those feelings and chemistry develop bc he is really perfect on paper and is super sweet.

I have a male friend I've known for some years (since college and we're now in our late 20s). Our friendship has always been interesting. We tend to butt heads a lot and we're constantly busting each other's balls. There has never been anything romantic between us. At the same time there have

been moments of flirtation. He isn't someone I ever thought I'd be attracted to but we do seem to have some chemistry. He did try to sleep with me one night when we were both very drunk, but I didn't. A few months ago we were at a party together, we were at each other all night but at the end of the night he was sitting on the couch behind me rubbing my head. We wound up falling asleep on the couch next to one another - when I woke up, we were all cuddled up together.

Anyway last night I had this dream about him which seems random since I haven't seen him in a few months. In the dream, I was sad over something (I don't remember what), and he was there. He put his arms around me and I cuddled up into him and I woke up feeling so safe and content.

I immediately felt guilty bc this is probably a dream I should be having about my boyfriend. I'm so confused as to what it all means. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

How long ago did you meet your current bf? It kinda sounds like you really do want your friend, but for some reason you don't think it would work out.

You see this guy as such a great friend and part of you probably wants it to be more whereas part of you wouldn't want to risk losing the friendship you have. It's a tough call.

I met my boyfriend about 4 months ago, so it's still very new.

Were you already with your current boyfriend at that time?

Ok yea.. it really does seem like you do want to be with him. Why not give it a shot? I mean, you've been friends for a loooooong time, you 2 would probably be very good as a couple.

At the time of that party, I was single. I met my current bf a few months later.

I really don't want to hurt the current guy but even before all this, I was having my doubts. I just know how hard it is to meet nice guys, I want to give it the chance to develop. But in the meantime I'm feeling a little restricted.
