LonerGirl Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I know the answer to this question is probably different for each person, but I want to get people's opinions on what would be considered dating? This stems from something I have with someone right now, but I figured I would save those details for later and just get this question out first. So what is considered dating?
Nexus One Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 (edited) - It's a (quick/rough) compatibility check (both physical and personality-wise) - It's a courtship display (like Paradise birds and Peacocks do) - It's giving in to (socio)biological pressures. - It's sexual selection. - It's meeting. - It's bonding. (or the opposite) - It's protocol. - It's ritual. - It's cultural. - It's entertainment. - It's communication, i.e. exchanging information about yourselves. (face to face) - Intimacy can be a part of dating. (Holding hands, kissing, hugging, sex) Perhaps I can come up with some more, but that's what I got so far. Edited March 2, 2011 by Nexus One
Author LonerGirl Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011 I see what you are saying. Thanks for the reply. So at what point is someone casually dating and then seriously dating, if there is such a thing. Maybe I'm thinking too much into this, but I hate wondering. I wish these things were more black and white, not every shade of grey imaginable.
