shellen Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 I do not understand why since after breaking up with me for 9 mths and he has since been seeing someone for abt 6 mths, but yet he says he still likes me, he does not want to get back together? I mean if after breaking up for so long and seeing another person, he still has feelings for me, should not that mean something? That I mean quite a lot to him? We had problems but I am willing to compromise. So whats holding him back?
Tony T Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 You can have feelings for someone, you can love somebody with ALL your heart and soul, yet know that they are NOT the right person for you. A sensible person will always be able to distinguish who is right for them in a practical sense. It takes a lot more than being in love to make a relationship that will stand the test of time. The problems the two of you had, of which you wrote above, were obviously things he didn't feel he wanted to deal with. You're lucky he's an honest guy and made you a free agent instead of holding on to something he would eventually let go of anyway. Eventually, you will learn this. Until you do, you are destined to fail. I hate to be the one to break this news to you. Your ex may not love his current girlfriend as much as you...he may still love you a lot....but right now he has decided he has more in common with the lady he is seeing and is giving some time for feelings to intensify with her. That's OK, he's doing you a favor, and that's the way it's supposed to work.
Author shellen Posted March 29, 2004 Author Posted March 29, 2004 ya...sometimes i try to understand it fr his pt of view. but most of the time ill go back thinking isn't our love worth a second chance, worth fighting for? I mean i do not expect my happiness to come by easily, im willing to fight, struggle if necessary for it.... and he is not reallie making it easy for me by telling me he still likes me, coz it makes it more difficult for me to let go. now im like always using wat he said to me against him to ask him why he does not want to give it another shot. its almost like im trying to force him into saying he does not like me anymore. i think im jus so stubborn, i need something lidat to make me give up completely.and i think im kind of succeeding coz he is like slowly ignoring me.....
