We hit it off well, so I ended it with "perhaps we'll go out sometime soon," which she agreed to. The second date, we went to eat at a fairly nice restaurant and watched my friends jazz trio. This date was a little awkward because we couldn't have a proper conversation due to the music. We ended up going out to have ice cream, but the ice cream place was closed, so we had more coffee. I ended the date with a hug goodnight and a promise to call. We then texted each other saying that we had a great time. Yesterday, we met up at a different coffee shop at noon and chatted for two hours before we walked back to campus. I ended it with a hug and told her that it was good seeing her. At each encounter, she seems to be interested in me. She is always leaning into me, looking straight into my eyes the whole time we're talking, and seems genuinely interested in what I have to say. I always get very excited and confident that she's into me. However, the next day I always end up second-guessing the events. Does she really like me, or is she just a naturally friendly person?! Who knows?! We never talk outside of a date other than when we're setting up the next get-together. She frequently takes hours to reply to texts or calls. I texted her Friday at around 5 thanking her for paying for my coffee (she insisted because I had paid every other time) and complimenting her artwork, but never got a reply. I'm afraid that she thinks that I've just been spending time with her as a friend! I haven't yet tried to hold hands with her so I guess that could help. Other than that, what am I doing wrong?
SingVoice Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Yeah from a girls perspective...if you haven't shown any physical interest...she might assume you have "friend zoned" her. I mean...you know when people like each other they find ways to make physical contact. Go out with her again...and initiate some contact! 3 dates and no kiss?? She's probably just as confused as you are!
Author minorsecond Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Haha I know! I do need to make a move. I was going to try to at least hold her hand on Friday, but the weather was cold and she kept her hands in her jacket pockets so I never got a chance!

SingVoice Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 You know...at the end of the date...sometimes you get "the look" which basically means "KISS ME YOU FOOL!" She would have probably looked into your eyes...maybe given a little smile.

I'm usually pretty nervous at this point because I'm thinking "So do I kiss her this time?" I haven't yet because I haven't physically flirted with her too much at this point. I promised myself that I'm going to really step it up at our next outing!

(This was the guy I ended up in the hospital having surgery on our second date with...and he visited me in the hospital but I didn't count it as a date.) We hadn't kissed yet...so when he came over...I gave him "the look" for about an hour. (I kept turning my head toward him...looking into his eyes...smiling...and thinking "JUST FREAKING KISS ME." Eventually I couldn't take it anymore so I paused the movie...turned to him...and said "Ok let's do this." HAHA!!!
