After my ex dumped me out of the blue, by text I became very depressed. I sort of feel like I haven't made as much progress as I wanted too. Sort of a mixture of things though:

1. I was good friends with all his friends. So when he cruelly ended it with me, I got dumped by not jut my ex, but a whole group of friends.

2. I have a predispostion of having depression already.

3. The friends that I did have are playing games with me. They cut me off and won't return my calls. I have no idea why. Someone has something against me?

4. My work has been sporadic and I have way too much time on my hands. Which means I start thinking about my ex. Which in turn, makes me even more depressed.

5. I hate my job and feel lost career wise.

Any suggestions?

Hey Sugarkane,

I looked through some of your older posts, but I can't find when your ex broke up with you. How long have you given yourself to recover?

It was a pretty long relationship (with the one that dumped you over the phone). And, you also have to get over losing all of your friends when they took his side. That's a lot to deal with.

I'm kind of in a similar spot with my friends, in that many of them are his friends so I have no friends really to turn to. The only solution for that is to make new friends, which is pretty challenging when you are sad/mad/etc.

Are there educational opportunities available to you? Lots of people go to college and then figure out what they want to do. I'm not sure if your current job offers a flexible schedule, but if it does, you could keep it while in school.

If you could attend school, you might be able to solve all of your issues. You could meet new friends, the school might have a counselor or someone you can talk with about depression, and you could look forward to a different job.
