hah that makes me a real box checker. It's good to know that there are girls out there that actively look for these things :p

On topic I'm 5'10, 125lbs and I have long hair. You can keep the dress though ;) I could probably pass for a woman if I *really* wanted to... which I don't lol. but my shoulders are too broad despite my weight. I've been told my build is like Jim Morrison in his younger days. I'll happily take that as a compliment :p

By the way, can really skinny guys get away with skinny jeans? I keep threatening to get some. Usually I wear slightly baggy clothes so I don't look quite so skinny :p

I know a girl who would probably really go for you, (probably more so even than me) judging from your description and she broke up with her boyfriend just before christmas. She's also the type to hook up with a guy if he happens to be around at the right moment, which judging from the time since breakup should be right about now.

So take that as a sign there are women out there for you. ;)

I don't have fashion advice sorry.

Feminine energy is good and I don't mind that a guy is in touch with his feminine side, but that will usually mean I rather be their friend than their girlfriend.

Thanks, I love your attitude as well T. Too bad you live in Australia, we could so hit it off.

I know it is too bad. I would love to meet you one day. I don't suppose you use skype.

I was totally into that type of guy when I was younger. I was a straight girl who went for the somewhat-androgenous person. But then something shifted in my mid-20s and I became a somewhat-bi girl who is attracted to more gender-conforming folks.

LOL, maybe you just think papercut is hot but aren't yet willing to admit it? ;) I'd date her.

I do think papercut is hot, I thought I just admitted it.

As I am getting older, I find a little masculine energy goes a long way. I think it's just about finding a good balance of feminine and masculine energy in one person, or maybe about knowing multiple people and getting the balance across the spectrum.

Lol one of me is already hard to handle, or so my parents say.:p

I feel the same way. In high school, I conformed with the hipsters and the rocker kids who like to wear slags and let their grow, but now that I'm in my twenties, I seem to be more attracted to men who act and dress like men. Nothing wrong with androgyny, since I used to like dressing in jerseys and jeans, but I like a guy to be sexy and that usually mean a button down shirt with construction worker pants.

And knittress, aren't you taken?

Yea, what happened to 'em?!?!?

I'm assuming they are in the military?

Right here baby, sup?

*Attempt at Jersey Shore casting dialogue*

Eh.... I'm not down for a player, sorry homeboy.

Oh burn!!! You were totally like trying to impress her, but she didn't even respond.

But seriously, it's all genetics. I'm skinny because of genetics (Asian, surprise, surprise), and I've worked really hard to try to beat my genetics. Even though I look more healthy because I have more muscle mass, I'm sure I'm less healthy on the inside. Because I've pretty much had to force feed myself and lift heavy at the gym (which resulted in numerous injuries), in order to gain muscle weight, in order to be not skinny the good way, in order to compete with guys like mo mo.

For awhile I seriously considered steroids. After researching it, I realized it's not as evil as everybody thinks (really, it's no big deal, public concept of it is blown out of proportion, don't believe me, research it yourself), but I decided against using it anyway.

It's less common for women to like skinny guys. Most women, if the guy isn't in the perfect athletic shape, prefer men that err on the fat side than the thin side. Reason is simple, women generally don't like to date men that are skinnier than they are, even if they don't have a thing for muscle-bound guys.

So I'm still working on it. Ideally I want another 15lbs of lean muscle mass, then I'll start cutting. And I'll be a fairly muscular medium sized guy, which is my final goal... I can't become a huge comic book super hero sized guy even if I wanted to anyway. But even that's REALLY difficult for me to do without using steroids... damn my Asian skinny genes. But when it's time to cut, it'll be easy as pie. My Asian genetics will help me shed fat like the government wastes tax payers' money.

Fishtaco, I will admit there are some gorgous gorgeous Asian men out there. But it is still a turn off if they weight 125 lbs on a 5'7- 5'8 frame. I guess I'm just being a stereotypical Asian idol fanatic if I say I'm more attracted to Korean guys who work out then rocker dudes with little to no muscle frame.

Yes, I've heard it is very hard for Asian men to gain muscle, and it will require years of training just to put on lean mass. But it does happen. The only thing you can do is up your protein and fat intake to improbable standards. No steroids.

Oh yeah, I know. I've been doing that for years already. I'm already 25-30lbs heavier than what my body wants to be. I'm doing at least 3000 calories a day in 4 meals. For a while I was hitting 4000 calories a day. But I felt like crap so I stopped.

And see, steroids has a bad rep. It's really not that big of a deal.

Haha, it's not easy trying to beat your own genetics. I supplemented with Muscle Milk during that time. They have a weight gain formula that's over 800 calories per shake or something like that. I tell ya, your body rebels against you when you chug 800 calories in 30 seconds. It also has a lot of saturated fat. I'm sure it wasn't good for me health-wise.

That's certainly possible... :p:laugh:

Not impossible, but it takes a lot more work than a typical skinny Asian male is willing to put in. It's not about the eating; it's about the training. Most of them are too lazy or ill-informed to do the workouts necessary to really put on much lean mass and strength.

All I see are tall, lanky and thin men. I don't want to date a Yao Ming lookalike with feminine features. I certainly don't want to date someone who's skinnier and weighs less than me. Where are the average heighted masculine men? :lmao::lmao::p

Hmm... average probably depends on where you live. In the state I live the average man is overweight... cause its one of the fattest states in the union (or confederacy depending on who you talk to).

The tall, lanky, and thin are not necessarily out of shape. StbxH was like that, but he was lean muscle... very little fat on his body, a bit of a 6 pack, etc. Get a good look at them lanky ones first you might be missing out on something in terms of muscles.

Feminine men, gotta agree I don't like those much.. metro XP

I guess all in all it depends on how much you weigh and how skinny you are. I am 5 foot 6 and hopefully 130 lbs. I have gained some of my muscle back recently and I like this weight and height. I was about 110 a few months ago... so a proportionately larger male to me might be a different size then a proportionately larger male to you.

Interesting perspective. Most everywhere I read, and the people I talked to, including my personal trainer and his body building buddies that are the size of small trucks, while proper training is also important, nutrition and rest are even more important when it comes to gaining mass.

It certainly depends on the level of training and physique you're talking about. For someone at a high level of fitness, nutrition becomes significantly more important as training reaches its inevitable levels of diminishing returns, and you're venturing into the single digit body fat %'s. However, for a complete beginner with no training experience and no muscle mass, he can eat practically whatever he wants (as long as it's enough), and as long as he trains properly, trains hard, and gets enough rest, he will grow. A 5'8" 120 lb hardgainer does not need 4000 calories a day to build muscle mass, unless he's some kind of physical anomoly. The body can only build muscle so fast, and no amount of eating is going to change that. It's an unfortunate truth that hardgainers just don't build muscle as fast...

I see what you're saying. Makes sense. For me I was already athletic, from martial arts and sports, plus I've tried to train on my own unsuccessfully for years.

For me the food was the eureka moment. I wasn't eating enough, or the right type of food. Once I got a personal trainer and started over eating, I was finally able to put on mass.

I weigh 110.

You should easily find a guy heavier than you. You're a lightweight!
