PerpetualMotion Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 The audition that I saw had 180 centimeters as a standard, which is 5'9" as you say. I wrote down 180cm as 6 feet, because I did a quick and rough conversion in my head. But I now used a calculator and it's 5'9" as you say. Mea culpa. Isn't 180cm = 5'11"?
Nexus One Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) Isn't 180cm = 5'11"? I made a mistake yet again, 180cm is 5.9 feet, not 5'9". D'oh! I recalculated, 180cm closer to 5'12". Edited February 25, 2011 by Nexus One
Scottdmw Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Here's the problem with tall, dark, and handsome, as well as similar lists of desired/required qualities. What do we mean by tall? Let's assume we're talking about the tallest 1/3rd of men. Handsome, same thing, the best looking 1/3rd of men. I'm not really sure what dark means, but for the sake of discussion we’ll say it is also limited to 1/3rd of men. So, what are the odds that a given man is all three? You just multiply the probabilities, 1/3*1/3*1/3=1/27. In other words, only about 3% of men would be expected to be all three. For mathematical people you'll realize I'm assuming statistical independence here. This is exactly why people who are too picky have a problem. They think to themselves, “c’mon, I don't want so much, only three things”. But, they don't stop to think about how quickly those requirements add up. Here's what makes it worse. What if most women want the same thing? It's not hard to imagine almost all women want a handsome man. It seems plausible that most women want a tall man. That means that most of the women out there are potentially competing for the same small number of men, though maybe not all the same 3%. Gee, no wonder it's hard. Take-home message? By all means, have your standards. But, if you're alone for a long time try to understand that you are possibly limiting yourself. Scott

Knittress Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 When women say 'dark', she means how dark? I always took it to mean a pale brunette with dark eyes. Or possibly latin, but Euro-latin - 'cause everyone still hates non-caucasian guys. (I kid!) :-/ (sorta.)

More like the darker shade of white. Lol
BelieveInUs Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Stop judging men by the outer appearances. You will get no dates like that. You will just be a mean old b**** for the rest of your life. Rememberance has its advantage. Sincerely, BelieveInUs One of the Man
