snug.bunny Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I dunno.... Why do men forget to put the toilet seat down? Or, how come they get boners over things that aren't even sexual? It's a mystery that will never be solved....
Kamille Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 To be honest ADT, I saw your responses on those threads and you were the one creating drama. My first relationship was with a guy who was very distrustful of women and who would imagine drama where there was none. He kind of had your attitude. He would "assume" I had an issue about him hanging with the guys (never did), or "assume" I had problems with him smoking weed, all because he held these very negative stereotypes about women. I didn't care that he hung out with the guys, and certainly didn't mind that he smoked weed. He picked other fights, the most classic one involving accusing me of trying to get pregnant to force him to commit when I told him I was going to get on the pill. (!!!) The problem with his belief that "women are drame" was that it made communicating about my actual needs in the relationship absolutely impossible. He would live it as proof that I (or rather all women) was a drama queen. It took me awhile, but now I realize that he was drama. Him. Not me. His negative views of women did two things: 1) It made him pick fights where there was no fights to be had and 2) It made him dismiss my genuine needs. If you're finding that the women you're dating are CONSTANTLY asking for confirmation, then it's possible that you're just dating insecure women. But given the way you're presenting yourself and how you're responding in this thread, I think it's more likely that you're dismissing legitimate concerns that aren't necessarily wrought forth out of insecurity. Brilliantly said!

It's a mystery that will never be solved.... Since we're all generalizing Why do men need validation that they're heros, special, brilliant, the strongest, the best, the biggest? Why do men need so much admiration?

P&R Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Everyone makes a big deal out of little things in relationships sometimes. In relationships you constantly need to give affirmation and get affirmation to know that you're wanted. When one of the two people in the relationship gets complacent it can cause these type of insecuritys from both sexes.
dispatch3d Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 haha uhhh that analogy was pretty bad. Like women enjoy being deathly silent and limp during sex? I just don't understand the analogy (because its awful) and then don't understand backing it up. So yeah, why do women make such a big deal out of nothing, and why do they defend awful analogies - two things I don't understand .

A certain "he bleeped me for x amount of hours while I yawned and looked at my watch" thread is a prime example.
dispatch3d Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 A certain "he bleeped me for x amount of hours while I yawned and looked at my watch" thread is a prime example. Yeah, but think about it. If a guy watched porn rather than having sex with a girl, that would be pretty rude of him wouldn't it?
Jannah Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Yeah, but think about it. If a guy watched porn rather than having sex with a girl, that would be pretty rude of him wouldn't it? It would be considered hurtful to the girlfriend, if he was dismissive of her and enjoyed watching porn instead. Would you not feel insulted, if you had a girlfriend, and she preferred a vibrator over having sex with you? Maybe you wouldn't be, and instead just go "hehehehahahaha lolzlolz".....

You just say that because you disagree with my analogy. Just cause my opinion is different than yours doesn't make it wrong.
Jannah Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Yeah whatever. You just say that because you disagree with my analogy. Just cause my opinion is different than yours doesn't make it wrong. I was agreeing with it, actually.
dispatch3d Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I was agreeing with it, actually. despite the laughter, I am unhappy with my throwback humour abilities. Well unhappy is the wrong word, I feel I must spend more time honing them.

Mme. Chaucer Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I found the sex analogy to be most excellent.
Disillusioned Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Why do men forget to put the toilet seat down? Because it would never occur to these idiot contractors who build our homes and apartments to build them with urinals in them, even though there's nothing in the building code that says they can't. My dream home would have 2 bathrooms... both would have a toilet and a bidet, and MY bathroom would also have a urinal. That's 5 pieces of porcelain in all. Or, how come they get boners over things that aren't even sexual? It's our bodies' way of keeping John Thomas in working order... DUH!
