Well...my ex-husband (still living together) has been working since Sunday night and I only got to see him once for about an hour....

It was good for detachment and so I've been able to get some confidence these past few days....

Now I want to know if there's any books you can recommend that help with the coping issue....

Nothing spiritual or sappy, but something feisty and uplifting.....that kinda sounds like my title.....

Anything ????

I liked "How to Survive the Loss of a Love" but that's possibly the sappiest book with hints of spirituality and much poetry.

I thought about checking out "Between Boyfriends Book" and "It's Called a Breakup because It's Broken" (sorry if I butchered the titles). I didn't read them because self-help books are not my cup of tea.

There are some very feisty and uplifting LSers, but I guess they are otherwise occupied right now.

Good luck.

P.S. The trick is not to become the woman everyone wants you to be, but to find people who want you, IMHO.

D78 :bunny: .....hi from North Texas to North Texas :p.....

The title was more of a hint as to what kind of books I'm looking for (feisty)....

I'm not into poetry and after the loss of my mother less than a month ago I'm not looking for spiritual help in any kind of way :( .........

I want to find myself again as I'm not who I am now.....

I used to be very independent and sexy when I met my ex-husband which is probably why he was so attracted to me.....

Now I'm the opposite of sexy (though working on it !!!!) and a very dependent woman :(......

And I realized that to love myself again I have to find my old self again....or close to it, because with 2 kids I'll never be my old self......

And since I can't do that without help I was trying to find some books.....

I will check out your suggestions....

Thanks a lot !!!!!!!

ok loveforever...i actually know think this is the perfect book for you. its called why men love bitches. from doormat to dream girl. now don't be deceived by this title. because it really is VERY simple language and with wit and witticism, really explains and guild you into a confident world again. and it does it with being sweet but firm and with confidence. i wish i could explain this awesome book. just run to barnes and nobles and sit there and read it. you wont want to get up! and if you have ANY hope of re-attracting your man..this will help get that accomplished. it shoots straight from the hip and makes sense galore.

ps is like d78 said The trick is not to become the woman everyone wants you to be, but to find people who want you, IMHO.

i agree with her , and this is what this book helps you do. and they dont mean being a B. its about being rock solid within you and how thats really attractive...but how to co mingle with that. i cant explain it lol. but it is one of my favorite books. i hope you take me up on this suggestion. ;)

Hmm, love that title...I need to stop being a doormat. Funny, when I do, people tell me I am wrong because it doesn't fit their model of who I am supposed to be....sigh. Can't win for losing.

Either The Journey From Abandonment to Healing, or Heartbreak to Connection by Susan Anderson. Become the woman (or man) everyone wants to be: themselves.
