What is the right amount of fitness that you like, ladies? I've heard some say that they just like a guy to be active, and others seem to need a guy with abs coming out of his back.

I had this discussion with a friend a while back. He said that women think they want a six pack, but really it doesn't matter. I disagreed with him.

Personally, I workout ~8 times a week. I have a muscular frame and am strong and fast performance-wise, but I'm not totally lean with a bulging six-pack like some guys you see. Last time I measured I was at 12% body fat. Trying to cut down on fat to get it, but man those cheeseburgers are good.... I think it'd just be cool to be that lean, and the ladies' attention are an extra bonus.

8?! Christ, i work out 3 times a week and think that's a lot. I suck!

Ask a few ladies out on dates and get their opinion. I'm sure they'll be happy to oblige :)

Absolutely nothing. Maybe I'll do some weeding to work on that flab problem. God knows there's enough weeds around here. Women like a man who's good with his hands. ;)

6 packs are nice, but who I am attracted to physically is a man who is taller than me, and bigger than me ... skinny guys who I feel fat around are not attractive to me... I like to feel smaller than the guy, though of course my rear and chest are shaped differently and with extra oomph lol, but I don't like to be bigger as in him having no rear in comparison to mine lol. Also, I like that he has very well defined and big muscles in his arms and shoulders and chest  and hips and thighs and calves... that's really a big turn on! And that he is athletic and can hold his own in sports. So, it's not so much the amount of fat, but the amount of muscle/ability to use that muscle! :bunny: He doesn't have to be only muscle/skin/bones and as little fat as possible, I don't tend to like skinny guys, but rather guys who look healthy, have not too much but not too little fat, and definitely work out or are involved in physical activity!

Oh boy, you got that right Carhill! ;)

Getting back on topic - I do like fit men and I like well defined muscles but, like elaina, I think any man bigger than I am and in reasonable shape would be in with a chance (if I was single) - and as I'm pretty small that's not much to ask.

Personality and compatibility are actually more important to me than a super-fit body.

That said, with my current man I got very lucky. Not only does he have a great personality and a 98% compatibility rating with me (made that up ), he is also tall, fit and lean (9% body fat), with very well defined muscles - awesome arms, shoulders and legs and a very respectable six pack (didn't make any of that up ).

Anyway, no complaints from me ;).

Just read that back and it sounds like I'm bragging! I guess I am - but he was a bit of a find. :D:p

jerk with big muscles. girls dream.

Where did elaina say anything about a jerk?

I have to say the words 'green eyed monster' spring to mind.:laugh:

I suppose your preference in a woman's body isn't a nice tight butt, large but firm breasts, tiny waist, long slim legs and a well toned stomach? :p Dare I say that any woman who looks like that must be a wh*re? You guys are just ridiculous.

Why do some people have to turn every thread into nasty name calling? Very sad!

you lie. girls are picky choosy. girls choose jerks.

Erm? Which part of my post that you quoted was a lie exactly?

(Not sure why I'm responding as you're obviously a troll  - I must be seriously bored this evening!)

huge muscles are a turn off, personally. I am sexified by a guy with some muscle tone..long as he is fit and active and it shows in his tone and the spark in his eyes that active people have, I could care less whether he is skinny or more bulky, has a 6 pack or a slight belly.

Lol I didn't mention jerk anywhere...

But I really liked how you wrote in a previous post about how personality and compatibility is more important to you than appearance...

Me too :)

But yes it's awesome when a person is more than "just a pretty face/body."

About the guy who called you a name, I'm gonna report him now.

Slim, lean and active.

Yay, finally somebody didn't say big defined muscles.

Seriously, not every guy has the right body type to get huge muscles.

The guys who do get big are 1: Genetically gifted. 2: Spend several hours in the gym every week.

Anyways, I'm 5'6, 165, 13.5" bicep.

Oddly enough, the average man is 5'9, 175, 13" bicep.

Heh, not too bad for a little guy like me

I don't know about the six pack abs, but the fact that your avie is of beaker and you like cheeseburgers, makes you a star in my book.:laugh:

The average man doesn't measure his bicep. ;)

I was once with a guy who was 6ft2 or 3 (can't remember which) and very muscular but not to the extreme of being a full-on bodybuilder. He was gorgeous but lying between his side and the crook of his arm with my head on his chest used to give me neckache.

Eh, I honestly don't think it does matter...yes, some women might get a kick out of it, or you might get a little more attention from it, but it shouldn't be the primary reason a girl is into you...

clearly you haven't met an average man.. he doesn't exist....

However, I'm surprised that an average man can't bench-press his own weight even once, but he can do a pull-up...

I reported him earlier - he's all over the dating section calling people names - 76 posts in one day - mostly saying all women like jerks! If I'd realised earlier I wouldn't have responded to him.

I think that's primarily due to the fact that men wear shirts 90% the time they are out of the house :p

The muscles required for the two exercises are very different. I think that the back and shoulder muscles just get more developed than the chest does in an average mans life.

A man I would be interested in has to take care of himself. He might be skinny, might be muscular, or might have a bit of a belly. Fine by me, I try to take in the whole person, not just body type specifically.

Someone who is pretty overweight or obviously lazy is a big turnoff. I take care of myself and am interested in staying healthy the rest of my life. I look for the same in a mate.

If he's constantly pumping Iron and obsessed with his body fat % and all that stuff I would be turned off too. He might be more attracted to a gym rat woman, which there are plenty of as well.
