Call Me Al Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I feel like whenever I go thru situations like this, I tend to re-evaluate my life...go thru a brief period of anger/mourning/frustration...and I reinvent myself somehow and come out of it better. For whatever reason, this has made me realize I need a new job. The one Im at is fine, but Ive been there for many years and its become sort of repetitive and stagnant. I realize the economy sucks and all, but I refuse to let that deter me from finding something else. Barring that, I'll just go to school full time. Either way, my goal is to be out by July 1st. I also started spending a lot more time at the gym. Its really one of the only ways I can completely clear my thoughts. I sort of achieve a state of relaxation where its just me and my Ipod and sweating a lot. I could stand to lose some weight, so Ive made a few small tweaks in my diet as well.
stopthemadness Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Well lets see.. I go to church alot more and am working on my relationship with God. I see a thearpist every 2 weeks, getten ready to stop that. Think ive goten everything i can out of that. And this week ive also joined a gym. So yea..things are looking better......I almost feel like ive found my HAPPY again..its awesome..most days. when i do have bad days its few and far between..
Lemontang Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Well last year I brought a motorbike and since then I've never looked back. This year I brought an ATV. I think next year I'll buy a JetSki what do you think? In short I feel I haven't just bettered myself, but excelled. I'm basically catching up on time I wasted with someone who held me back from the things I used to do prior or would have done by now if I had never met her. I don't regret meeting this ex, no. If anything I'm happy for it, as I've grown so much as a person from the aftermath that I could never see myself fall into this same kind of relationship again. Live and learn, live and learn.
starryeyed12 Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I'm doing the p90x workout/diet program. I've already lost 5 lbs. I'm also seeing a therapist for the first time next Monday. I'm a slighty nervous what that will be like, but I'm ready for it. It's a weird feeling to feel better and happier when you finally get out of a failed relationship, while also sad and lonely.

I've done the P90X workout and I will say that it's off the chart. I'm tentatively getting back into it now "Are you ready to bring it???" . As for a Therapist they really do help, if anything they won't give you answers, but rather teach you how to use the tools you have to find them. They did wonders for me when I went through a really bad breakup.
