I met this girl like 1.2 weeks ago.

We've talked on the phone about 2 times but since we gonna meet in the weekends...it's better to save the actual Voice conversation for when we meet face to face.

Texting is kinda fun

It's fun and awesome. once in a while we send eachother messages. I'm not a crazy cellphone user and so i don't text much. before this girl.. pretty much i only texted sisters that live in another state about 5 messages per week or something.

But i noticed since i met this girl. i have sent her about 40 messages.

That means 80(40 x 2 they charge to send and receive) X .20(about 20 cents per message.)

so that's about 16 dollars!!!!!!!!!!

and i was enjoying it.. i would send a bit more if i could but....

wow too much.

and then she's probably getting charged too.

I guess i'm gonna have to tell her that we shoudl stop

:(

Why are texts so expensive.

Do you have an IPOD touch or any phone that opperates on a droid opperating system? If so you can DL a program called text free that allows you to text for free as long as you're in a wifi hotspot. You can also receive text if you're outside the zone.

no i'm not that into cellphones. i just have a basic verzon cellphone.

So i can just give it up if it's gonna be that expensive. it's kinda sad though.

She may be texting a lot with no concern because she has a texting plan with her cellphone contract. Maybe you should let her know that's not the case for you and that you should find other ways to communicate?

Glad you guys are having fun though.

If you feel like this may be an ongoing thing, why don't you just add a text plan on to your current contract. They come in different increments and I believe unlimited is only 15 a month.

I did that when I started dating again too. I am with ATT but I bet verizon does the same thing. I was able to retro activate an unlimited texting plan so I didn't get overcharged. I was at like 2,000 texts though so yeah. unlimited plans are $20 a month.

Most girls have an unlimited text plan. They love to text.

I'd suggest buying a bulk message plan if you can. Something like 500 messages for $5.

Create a free Google Gmail account, install the texting/sms labs extention. Voila, free texting in North America. But that is if you want Google to see that communication.

I might get the unlimited plan. Thanks for the info!!!

well i hope this girl will be my friend for long cause if not.. then i'd be wasting money. She's the only one that i do frequent texts with:)

You may as well get the unlimited plan because there will be other women in your life. And yes, many of us love to text. :)

I had to get a text plan because EVERYBODY - friends, co-workers, random strangers that ask for your number - (everybody!) will assume you have a plan and rack up your texting bill.
