So as you all know, I work with my ex and he has been generally laboring to make me feel like crap - so I have been avoiding him like the plague. Had literally not laid eyes on him for at least 6 weeks before I saw him the other day. I have been avoiding being on campus on the days he works because I get upset when I see him and it visibly shows. I don't want to give him that power.

Today, I saw him TWICE and both times I held my head up high, looked absolutely fabulous (skinny jeans& heels today lala), chit-chatted with my girlfriend, smiled like I was having a great time, and completely ignored him. When I turned around he was gone (we were in Starbucks, which is in our library), so I think he literally ran away.

I feel SO GOOD because I am no longer going to show him that I am afraid of him or that he has any emotional effect on my whatsoever. I should not be terrified to go to MY PLACE OF WORK just because I might run into him. I work here too d***it and I have just as much of a right to be here as he does. I'm taking my power BACK.

What a wonderful feeling - just wanted to share.

hey well done you hold that head up high and show him what he lost while looking good :)

Congrats! I'm pretty sure that once you do this one time, you never go back to being intimidated. :) It's quite an accomplishment seeing as how your ex has not stopped bothering you!

The more you see him about the place, the less impact it will have on you anyway; it has the power over you because you hide away and let it build up. Infact the more you see him, the more you might start noticing things about him that annoy you and that my friend will be a sweet success. :D

I cant even imagine working with someone I had dated and going thru a breakup. I think every girlfriend Ive ever had I was fortunate enough to cast out of my life and have no contact with when things with south...except the one I lived with.
