Hello everyone. Just got out of a six week relationship with a guy who lives far away. I'm a little confused as things just sort fizzled out but I'm not sure whether I should keep his number in my phone just in case he tries to call me I wont pick it up. Any advice?!

Does your phone have the ability to send his messages to voicemail in case he attempts to call you? Maybe that would work, but I tend not to answer calls from numbers I don't know, so erasing is always an option.

Hi

A bit confused about what you said there. You said "I wont pick it up" so then why would you want to keep his number and it wouldn't make any difference if you did he could still phone you?

Anyway why won't you pick it up? Also more info on the getting together/break up scenario?

Relationships end best with open communication.

I think what she means is by not deleting the number IF he calls she'll know who it is rather than delete the number and IF he calls just answer it.

p.s I also don't answer from numbers recognise.

I thought that but he'll still be able to leave VM and txt as well.

Everyone's different, but I've never deleted exes' phone numbers or blocked them on my phone. Even when I'm in full NC mode, I tend to take them off IM, facebook, those sort of channels - where I feel "lazy" contact is too easy and because I stare at a computer screen all day - but I've always just left their numbers stored in my phone.

I don't call exes and if they call me I can decide whether to answer or not. It might be a big issue for you if you feel you can't resist calling or texting your ex - otherwise leaving it as is to at least recognise his number doesn't seem a big deal to me. Do what feels right. :)

Should I keep his phone number

Yes, those digits might combine to be the winning lotto number that changes your life. Why throw away such an opportunity?

Sooner or later the numbers will come up in a drawing. I just don't know in what state, province or country, or whether you'll be on earth at the time.

If you want to make sure u dont answer if he calls, then save his number to 'DONT ANSWER'.

I've done this with my ex, at first I deleted his number, but then I saved it to 'DONT ANSWER/ CALL' to stop myself from answering, and also if i ever got the urge to call him I look at where his number is saved 'DONT CALL' and i come back to reality and stop myself!
