There was a study done that women are more interested in men who are not interested in them. She could be stuck on the ex for all you know so warming up to her and being friendly would be a signal for her to use you as an emotional tampon. My best advice- court her, but don't be friends with her.

I wonder about studies like these.. because in order for something to develop, the guy has to show interest eventually right? I know what they mean, but as a guy, it is hard to know when to start showing interest or bending the rules a bit.

 

That is why I just try to let things develop naturally over time.

Three months and idk

 

We used to be really close (like almost together but not) but I asked her out, she was already dating him, turned me down, we didn't talk for a while. We just started again about a month or so ago but we've barely talked at all compared to how much we used to (like we've only talked once in the past month)

So she knows you had an interest. :bunny: Maybe just see if she wants to have coffee one afternoon and try and feel her out before making moves. Again, she knows you think of her that way. :D

Till she's ready to look around at the world again. Could be 5 minutes, could be 5 years. Usually somewhere in between. Success has more to do with her frame of mind with the break-up than time.

Give her a few weeks to get her emotions in order. They didn't date for too long so it shouldn't take too long for her to want to date again. If she starts dating someone else real soon he's probably the rebound guy.

 

Wait for that to end then give it another few weeks and if she's available try your luck.
