Do you think it's possible for a man to go out on dates just because he hopes he has an opportunity to write women off?

In other words he's asking women out not because he's interested in her but only because he hopes there will be red flags that pop up so that he has a good excuse to write her off?

Is it possible that some folks will date with an agenda to look for an excuse to write the other person off? I guess this question applies to both men & women.

Perhaps I have fallen into that trap and I'm not aware of it. On the one hand it's great not to be fooled & not to rationalize red flags when you see them but on the other extreme you don't want to date people just because you're looking forward to having a reason to write them off.

How can I tell whether or not I've fallen into that trap?

Depends on the intent of the man in the situation and where he is in his life.

A man who is looking for the "one" to settle down with and whom only intends on getting married once is going to think more carefully about his potential partner, where she's at in her life, how she treats her relationships, her basic nature - whether she is basically a good, loyal partner who will go the distance. He will run things over a fine toothed comb. If she does shows she's not looking for the same thing as you, then it would make sense for you to write her off (i.e. she's bangin' two other guys while saying she wants you to be her serious boyfriend)

A man who is just looking is going to have a great time out with whomever he meets, wants to keep it low pressure, interesting, fun and not make any immediate decisions.

It behooves you to communicate your intentions to a woman and just go from there.
