Why do some men go after the other man?

If you go after the OM, you are blaming him for attacking and stealing from you.

 

If you blame your W/GF, then you are admitting that she did this willingly. more importantly, you are admitting that this 'other guy' is more attractive than you are. This means you are less of a man than he is. What's better, to be robbed or to be less of a man?

Now...some will respond to this as a challenge, and then go after the OM to prove their virility.

 

I think it's the same reason why some M get pissed when a gay man politely makes a pass at them. If they shrug it off, they're admitting something about them looked gay. If they try to hit the guy, he's a pervert who gets what he deserves (in their mind).

Because some people men and women have no emotional attachement to the other person so it is easy to go after them and blame them. Going after the cheating spouse is admitting to yourself that you married a dishonest deceiver.

If anything I would buy the other guy a box of chocolates and some flowers because he did me a favor by revealing my wife's character.

 

I agree. doesn't mean you can't look at them with disgust because of what they are. But the OM in my situation did me a HUGE favor.

gee, here you have a guy that suggests not getting mad at OM and not going after the OM, and you are dissing him for it.
